Trained abs.  Not really enjoying training abs, probably due to the fact that I feel as though I can't go all out for fear of "the nose".  But I have decided that anything is better than nothing and the past couple of days my nose has felt and looked pretty good and I feel as though the swelling is somewhat lessening and I can see light at the end of the tunnel.

Situps x 5 sets 15 reps per set
Reverse crunches x 3 sets (didn't do many as felt alot of pressure in nose)
Crunches x 5 sets 30 reps per set
Weighted crunches x 3 sets 10 reps only, ears started popping so stopped
Weighted side bends x 3 sets 10 reps each side with light weight (10kg)


I am going to post a pic up.  This shows where I am at, currently.  My goal is to reduce bodyfat and bring up the width of my shoulders, back and I want leaner harder arms.  Since I began training again after this surgery I gained 2.2 kg which I believe to be is muscle that I had lost when I wasn't training consistantly due to my sinus blockage etc.  It's just muscle memory.  I know it's not fat as I have been eating pretty clean and doing cardio and I just know my body...that it has gone to my back mostly, possibly other bodyparts as well but I can mostly see it in my back.  I am not pumped or posing in pic, it's just a standing pic.  I will take a progress pic again in a few weeks time.  This will motivate me to achieve my goals since I have to beat this pic now..haha

 I like those weighted sit ups, I`m good for 10 x 3 and then everything gets blurry.

 If I can get the mrs to take a pic of me in a good light I will post one as well, I could use the motivation. Work has been rough and we probably have 2 more weeks like that before it settles back down to a normal schedule. I have been getting plenty of exercise just not the kind I want.

Thank you hrspwr1.  I was lucky I didn't get much bruising...just a little under my eyes and that went away at 2 weeks post op.  I haven't been taping my nose when I train for the past week and that's how I know I am getting better because I have less swelling and some feeling coming back to the end of my nose...the knob bit.  Surgeon told me it would take a full year to get all feeling back in it.  I am getting some feeling back now so it's a good sign.   :)
My ab training sucks at the moment and the only thing I enjoyed today was the situps.  I feel as though I need to train harder in that department but am hesitant to do so as fear of getting all swollen.  I want to keep training at the pace that I am as I feel as though I am making progress. 
Yes get your mrs to take a pic and post it, as it will motivate you to train and work harder towards your goals.  It's like you have something to compare to and want to improve on it or rather have to.

Today is leg Day...i´m a bit tired and did not sleep well but i will do 3 sets of each ex....
Warn up jumping rope and Abs:
crunches and V-sit ups twisting

Pre-exhaust supersets

leg extension 3x15
Squats          3x10-15

leg curl          3x15
stiff Deads(DB)3x15

seated calf raises 3x15-20
standing(Db)       3x15-20

leg press 5 plates x12,6 plates x12,7 plates x 10 gassed,,,
lunges a bit different old school of rack step back then 1 leg foward back then other leg sets 12 steps 135,185 lbs,,,
extensions 235 x15,245 x12,250 x11

heaviest sets squat and leg press slight knee wraps and belt for squat,,,,

hams stiff legged deadlift usually do leg curl only sdl's today
135 x12.185 x10,230 x1o,230 x10

calfs seated calf raise 4 sets 20/12/12/12/  3 plates then 3 sets 3 plates and 25....

Thank you njflex.  I am very focused on my goals and I enjoy the discipline and routine that bodybuilding/sculpturing brings me.  I know what I need to do and I will do it.  This is the worst out of shape that I have been in years due to the fact that I couldn't be consistant with my training last year due to sinus infections.  I don't know if I had a deviated septum...I never had an issue with my nose, how it looked.  When I told a friend recently about my nose op his reply was "I never noticed anything with your nose".  He said he never had an issue with my nose.  It was an ex who said this btw.  The bridge of my nose went off to the side slightly at the end towards the knob and this meant that it was cutting off airflow and when I got sick mucus wasn't able to drain properly.  So when I saw the surgeon he told me he could clean out my nose but it was possible that it could return and I would get a sinus blockage in the future. So I decided to get the septum straightened perfectly to allow the best flow of air etc as I believe in prevention and what I went through for 16 months I never want to go through again.  So I though to myself if I was going to go under for an operation I might as well do it all at once..make sure this never happens again. 
I would have no problem admitting if I had it done for vanity reasons as I don't see anything wrong with it, if it makes a person really happy but I had it done for medical reasons.  I don't think my nose looks that different, it's still the same size..the knob is the same the only difference is I have a nicer profile and thats about it.

The only thing I felt was relief to get out of the heat.  I am a bit naughty in the fact that I come in from the heat and into my air conditioned bedroom.   :P  That's like pure heaven.  But actually I wasn't as tired, I felt fitter today.  Had a great back workout too earlier and got a good pump.  I feel like it's just on and upwards from here.

Thank you njflex and I am 43 years of age.  Definitely belong in the over 40 group...hence the mature thread.   ;D  I don't use a trainer and I train alone as I have had training partners over the years but I prefer to train alone and just grab a spotter when I need one.  I do my own programme and to be honest It would probably benefit me for someone else to give me a progamme as I need help in bringing up my arms.

Oh god, sounds like heaven running up against an icy wind.   ;D  When I walk it's like  I am in one of those butterfly enclosures at the zoo..that's the temp I am in.

you look strong flex. I had the mrs take some pics of me today and I look like shit, working on it. Ran 2 miles as fast as I could this AM then lift - bench 3x10 light sets, 3x5 heavy, bb rows 3x8, clean and press 3x7, ez curl 3x10, hammer curl 3x10, then did 30 minutes on the heavy bag waited 3 hours and another 20 minutes on the heavy bag. This was the first day this week I didn`t feel like crap and wanted to get a good workout or two in before work cranks back up tomorrow.

And it shows!  Really good legs there njflex.  Your quads, hams and calves are all in proportion and you have some good thickness to them.

Don't worry about it, at least you have something to look back on to compare to as you make progress.  Good work out and it would be hard going at the bag for 30 mins and then another 20 mins...great cardio.
