Genetics plays a huge roll in how we look as we age. I am in the last decades of my life, I don't expect to look like a young buck with muscles at this point. I am perfectly happy looking healthy and reasonably fit. More importantly, I really enjoy that I am in great health for someone my age. I'll keep working out as long as it makes me feel good.

Unlike Stallone, I have no plans to do this by using a shitload of PED's. The comparatively low dose of testosterone cypionate that I inject every two weeks, will never be enough to make much of a difference. The main change from these shots is feeling less tired all the time. I am surprised that it took as long to kick in as it did, but I feel 100% better than I did a couple of weeks ago.

Wednesday: back

Front lat pulldown 4X12-8
Incline bench row machine 3X8-6
Low cable row 2X6-4
Reverse grip pulldown 2X6-4
One arm dumbbell rows 2X6-4

Time 30 minutes. The weight range is normally fairly heavy, except that this being the first time back doing this routine I have pretty much cut the weight load in half on many exercises. I expect to start jumping it back up fairly quickly.

This is a pretty easy day. The only exercises with warm-up sets are the first two. I don't exactly have "bat wings" yet. Any suggestions are welcome?

Took this photo in the locker room today. I don't think I look like I weigh 208 lbs. It must be those giant "love handles" ha, ha! This is about as naked as I plan to get until I think I look a little better. This is definitely a "before" photo. Like some say on Getbig, "Do you even workout?"

You'll notice that I am wired for sound and not particularly photogenic.
great workout and you look good Jay. never too old to improve and your choice of exercises are very intelligent.

Duly noted. But I'm quite laid back in the real physical world. And as you may note, no CAP'S (needing attention, showing anger...rather rude actually) in any of my postings. Never going to the extreme of coming unglued with something on a site like GB. Very few people, who post here, are who they really claim they are. Just role playing for them. Some very lonely souls out there.

Donald Smith and I got along very well in the past. He once posted that I should write a book about training (in a serious vein....no sarcasm was  intended). Not sure what went wrong along the way, but around October/November, of last year, seemed to be a turning point. I suggested the advantage of raising the heels when squatting, also including the one arm negative chin in a workout..if one wished to try those out.  Than wham-O, got the somewhat abusive post and PM's from Donald Smith. Still don't know the reason behind all of that.  His persona had changed with other GB members, also. Donald Smith also took exception the "Good Luck" at the end of most of my post, even complaining to the Mods about that. (I have friends in high places within GB)

All this seems to have leaked over to the Mature site...truly sorry for the interruptions. But the lie's and miss statements about me really need to be addressed. Wish to believe me or not, that is anyone's choice. Hopefully Donald Smith and I can come to a agreement to disagree and not take it to a abusive level.

what a load of crap. I never said you should write a book and i never complained about you writing "GOOD LUCK".. i wrote to you and said you are a tool and need a smack. you then wrote sexual comments to me. saying i was Homosexual. you are arrogant and an asshole simple as that. now i do not like you and do not want to see you write my name. I say who i am and unlike you am not false. Jay and Karen write to me on Facebook. you are a shit stirring little toad. you have had run ins with other people and not just me .. yev33 and oldtimer1 and more... see you are like i wrote arrogant... or are other people wrong too? face the facts, you are not a likeable person. you have friends in high places here? who are you? just a clown. make yourself just sound like a fool.

Thanks for the explanation, however I would really like to stay out of whatever went wrong between you two. It is none of my business.

Like I said before, I appreciate your feedback just as I do suggestions from the other folks here. Speaking of that, while my arms did fine in terms of soreness, I over worked my calves last Tuesday. They didn't bother me much yesterday, but today I could hardly walk. Funny, I went really light on the weight, which is what I have been doing with all these exercises until I get back into the swing of things.  I'll post today's work out later. I am going to go plop in front of the television with my wife for awhile now. I have been going all day and I am tired.

Thursday: shoulders and abs

Worked out late 6:00 p.m. to 6:45 p.m. because I had a zillion things to do today. I am proud of myself for still going even though the time was out of sync for me. My preferred workout time is between 2:00 and 4:00 p.m.

Seated overhead press 4X10-4
Lateral raises on Nautilus 3X8-4
Bent over lateral raises 3X8-4
Shrugs 3X8-4
Upright rows using cable 3X8-4
Ab Coaster 3X15 (I set in each of the three positions)
Crunches on Nautilus 2X25-20
Roman Chair hyperextensions 2X15-10

yes i agree.. love doing laterals and presses superset style.. really is about pumpin up the delts and supersets/trisets are king. shoulders donīt need massive weights to grow as they are worked hard on upper body days anyway with benches,dips,rows....etc..etc. I am a bit more careful now after the Bursitus i had. no more presses behind neck, chins, pulldowns behind neck. Going to blast my quads and hams today at work...no time now.. my plan is::
smith machine squats 4 sets
seated leg press 3-4 sets
seated leg curls 3 sets
leg extensions 3 sets
calf raises 4-5 sets

i will also eventually work some Adduction and Abduction in the routine...but not today.

I really like it for lower abs. It is really comfortable to use. If you keep your abs tensed, you feel it right away. Normally, I do these 3X25240lbs added weight. My gym has two of them. I actually like the older model better then the new one because the older model has the curved track like the one in the photo. The newer on pivots from the sides and is quitter. Of course one can always substitute leg raises using the parallel bars and doing either knee raises or leg raises.

I swear my lower abs already look tighter this morning.  Soon I will get up the courage to take a snap shot of me with my shirt off, battle scars and all. ;D

I've done those too. They're a killer workout for abs and like with an Ab Coaster you can change your leg position hitting the side abs and oblique's as well. The straps are a bit uncomfortable though after awhile.
