True.  I have often told people that if its heavy for you, then its HEAVY!  Don't worry about what others can do.  Heavy is relative to each individuals current level of strength.  We are all strong in our own way but the level of strength is different.  As Mentzer used to say, train to get to your full genetic potential.  Not someone else's.

When I was young and the squat became my favorite exercise I could easy handle 500+ pounds for 20 reps and more.  People thought it was heavy  but for me, it was light.  I told them it took years to get to that weight and that if it (20 rep sets) worked for me, it would work for them. But few tried the routine because it is brutally HARD.  I liked them.  A lot!

I tried it on bench presses too and discovered back then that whatever weight I could do for 20 reps, it was highly probably that I could do a singe with 100 pounds more.  The most I ever benched was 350.  I never did a single heavy on the squat but the gentleman known as Coach on here and a powerlifter I knew in Florida both estimated (based on my training poundage and rep schemes) that I was capable of at least a 700 pound single at a bodyweight of 250 lbs. (my heaviest ever bodyweight at a height of 6' 1").  Oh lord but I miss my youth!

I digress.  Sorry lads!

 ;D

I hear what you are saying. I have heard more than a few bodybuilders say make a light weight heavy. Took me awhile to grasp the concept. Shorten the rest between sets. Use a full range of motion. Slow down the rep cadence.  Use higher reps.  Wilf Sylvester said he used 400 reps of free hand squats with leg extensions and leg curls for the 1975 Mr. Universe.  He found the free hand squats ripped him up and built up his thighs. If a light weight Mr. Universe winner can use body weight squats there is no need to be embarrassed by using say 135lbs for 4 sets of 15 reps in the squat going ass to grass in a controlled movement.  I've seen huge bench press guys reduced to nothing by just push ups.  Like Flex recently said on his interview with Ric Drascin. It's how hard you work not the weight.

Ran 3.3 miles on an off lifting day.  I have to lose 10 pounds. I wonder if it's the beer I drink that's contributing?  ::) Finally had an incredible nice day after a rough winter in NJ.  It was 72F and breezy.  Ran a desolate abandoned rail road trail through the woods. Saw a girl running toward me. She looked a little scared but smiled as I ran by. I know it's scary being in the middle of no where and seeing another person on the trail.

On a different note since supplements are not regulated in the US does anyone really believe whey isolate is practically lactose free like many put on the label?  I react pretty badly to lactose.  I was looking if my memory serves me Isopure whey isolate and it says on the container lactose free. I'd like to get a container but I don't know if risking explosive runs are worth it.

I'm losing weight the chemical way. It's actually a side effect from Welbutrin which the doctor prescribed about three weeks ago for depression. Every day, when I weigh myself in the morning I am down between 1/2 lb. and 1 lb. The lowest I am going to let myself get before I will have to do something to stop the weight loss is 175 lbs. This morning, I weighed 183.5 lbs.

About to hit arms (3-4 sets, 12-15 reps).

Biceps:
Machine preacher curls
Barbell curls
Hammer curls
Cable curls

Triceps:
Pressdowns
Overhead extensions (cables)
Smith Machine close grip bench press
Underhand extensions

My elbow is finally healed from injury (tendonitis), so not doing many free weight movements for triceps until I feel safe.

yes probably better. I would stick to Close grip benches(which you have) and Dips. compound stuff but if you can do cable work then go for it. Tri workout looks good though going to hit it all. i would maybe just do pressdowns OR underhand extensions but not both as they both hit the medial and outer heads

Now sonny how about you stay on topic. If you don't have a workout routine to post or something else exercise related, you are right.....we don't want you here.
