Well, considering there are only 20,000 African lions left, its pretty big news. When animals go extinct, its worldwide repercussions. Its not to be taken lightly.

Its news because it's one of the nicest creatures on this earth.  The fact some fucker used high powered weapons to kill a lion in it's own habitat is just sickening.

Doesn't mean we should not try our best to preserve animal species.

Its a poor argument to say that just because so much of life went extinct in the past, therefore its okay to carelessly kill off lions just to hang a head on someones wall.

I, for one, prefer that no species of animals become extinct so people can kill for trophy.

How many times have you pumped $55,000 into the African wildlife industry.

It's because of idiots like that guy that there are still 20,000 lions left.  It doesn't change the fact that he's a dipshit, but it's money from people like him that keep game reserves running and fund the anti-poaching team that guards white rhinos 24/7.

follow him as he runs off in pain and bleeding...
track is blood stains for 24 hours...
once they get him in the right spot, shoot him through his lungs...
not in his head, as they need that for their trophy...
blood will enter his lungs and he will suffocate slowly...
once he's dead, they will pose with their target..
Then he will be decapitated, as the getbigger who shot him will get to hang the dentist's head above his fireplace..

Hunting as part of a cull is one thing, but hunting an endangered species purely for "sport" is pretty despicable.
If this guy wanted to kill things, than why not go to Iraq and join Kurdish forces in their fight against ISIS rebels?
