I tryed swiss ball squats once (for amusement purposes) this is by far the most dangerous exercise ever! i saw a pic of a guy doing 135lbs squats on one! i nearly did my self in just using the bar. this exercise has it all and should win the "most useless award"

Where they hold a dumb bell in one hand then bend down to the ground in the direction of the dumbell.


Dose that do any thing for you ?

I like the one where they hold a 10lb dumbell perpendicular to their body to the side. With their arm bent at the elbow...and then twist their arm, moving their forearm up and down.
So like this (top-down view):

Too hard to explain, too fucked up to do

Although it looks stupid and useless but it is mainly for strenthening the rotator cuff after injury or some people use it to strengthen the area to bench more weight.....My buddy is an ex pro hockey player and has had multiple shoulder surgeries so he does this all the time...

agreed with swiss ball anything.  whats up with the bench thoughts.  to bench or not to bench, that is the question.  can great chest be built with flyes and dips alone.  does incline get included with falt, db's?

Whats wrong with kickbacks, i do them at the end of my arm workout and it really makes the back head of the tricep burn if you do it correctly, Flat benchs kinda suck in my opinion but i still do them light toward the end of my chest workout and dont let the bar touch my chest or lockout my elbows, i go more for the pump.

Worst exercise though is behind the back barball shrugs

The most useless BB exercise has to be strangling your housemate. I just don't see any benefits from that one. Plus, you have a lot of downside.

Look at the "massive" chest on some of these weightlifters that focus on bench pressing. LOL. Their chest are not even close to the development of a bodybuilders chest.

underneath the fat they are. just because they are not deathly lean and the cross striations arent visible doesnt mean they dont have tremendous chest development. you think they are benching 600+lbs with underdeveloped chests?

None...everything has a place if it works.

i feel my chest working very well when doing flat bench, never had any shoulder problems in almost 8 years of going heavy. i think most people do it wrong in several different ways. i can do 5 sets of BB flat bench and my chest is sore the next day. remember to use your chest buy squeezing the muscle together on the way up. there is more to bodybuilding than just pushing weight.

It's not just a matter of doing benches wrong, some just won't respond to it and/or find it grinds down the shoulders. I haven't done benches for about 20 years.

Even for someone who likes benches, I have the feeling that dumbbell flat benches are better.

Crossovers are one of the top pec exercises if you're taking the time to feel the muscle and use good form.

U can take all the time u want and use the best form in the world...............

stop using it for a year or two and u won't tell a difference!! your chest will look just the same.
