Ha! And according to this, it was Stalin: https://en.wikiquote.org/wiki/Talk:Joseph_Stalin
I must have heard the historian speaking about his comments. It was a Military Channel special on the "Top 10 Battle Tanks of all time"
Most interesting stuff, honorable AJ.
Sure enough, in WW2, the USSR generally used grossly inferior tech opposite Nazi Germany; however, one thing they did enjoy over the Germans was American-imported APCs, which had much greater speed and, therefore, much greater strategic value than the means by which most German troops were deployed to fight.
Then, of course, you can't ignore the sheer industrial might of the Soviets vs. the Germans. Industrial capacity is what made the U.S. a superpower, and it's little different for the USSR "back in the day." If you can produce 1,000 shitty tanks to the enemy's 100 awesome ones, odds are you're gonna fucking SMASH them in the end.
But on a BBing-related note, Ramy did some decent benching after that lengthy warm-up and the heavy flying motion beforehand. He looked as if he had more reps in the tank with that 405.
On the other hand, the guy is supposed by north of 300, right? If he DIDN'T bench big weights for reps, I'd be surprised. Even "little" Dexter could bench 405 for five or six reps, and that dude is NOT built to handle big weights.
