I wouldn't go that far.  Frequent intensive aerobic exercise is probably the best thing you can do for overall health, and there is no evidence that running on pavement "ruins your body".

I agree that walking for 30 minutes at 3 mph is an utter waste of time though, unless the person is extremely unfit to begin with.

Yes but lets be real, Walking for 30 to 45 minutes is what most of these people(bodybuilding lifestyle folks) are doing and calling it cardio...Doing this is a sham...If your talking HIT type aerobic exercise for short peroids of time, I agree it's good for your health. Long periods of frequent aerobic exercise like running marathons is the kiss of death in the long run(no pun)...Not only are these marathon runners dying younger, they look like absolute shit doing so. Saggy skin and sunken in faces.

You're moving the goalposts a bit here, extreme exercise of any sort is probably bad for your health in the long term.  Running isn't unique in that regard.

The study in question also isn't published or peer-reviewed.  People have tried to publish that shlock about "running > 20 miles/week or faster than 8 minutes/mile will kill you :o" before and it seems their results change when they're actually held to some sort of rigorous scientific standard and can't just spew out whatever they want at a conference somewhere.

Cardio is good to get the blood flowing but that's about it... Remember watching Bob Chick on his lead up to the masters? Dude would walk at like 3mph for 30 to 45mins and be out of breath thinking he just accomplished something. The dude burnt what was equal to a small apple...This cardio hoax started back in the 70's early 80's when gym's starting opening up. So muscle mags would write out what you were suppose to do and the sheep followed it to a tee. It's helps push a 500+billion dollar industry today with snake oil supps and snake oil cardio machines...Most of the dudes in my gym who are 10% or under may walk on the treadmill for 10min just to check out pussy...Other than that the machines are for chicks and older dudes who once ruined their body running for miles on pavement and can't let it go...I also notice that most of the people 35 and older who use the cardio machines have saggy skin in key areas...It's like all they are doing is dehydrating themselves using those things...

There were no cardio machines in the gyms I worked out at until the late 80s, with the exception of a couple of stationary bikes.  I don't think its right that the cardio hoax started when you claim.

Also everyone I've ever seen doing High Intensity Cardio combined with dieting has gotten lean.

In all honesty,I was a mess and always knew it.........took a zillion tries to stop and finally I did it.

My life was a living Hell,so it was really a no brainer to stop, but it wasn`t easy for me to do so,hence the zillion attempts I made to quit.

its  never easy. Sometines the only way to get out is hit the rock bottom...problem  is then when you sober up to get back friends and families you lied and cheated to. Good for you wes, one last question then i will  not bother you more with this lol but do you still get the urge to drink?  One of my closest friends finally got to a rehab center for benzo and alcoholism for 6 whole months...looked like a totally new person when he came home  earlier this summer, tppk him 8 weeks until he got back and the cops took him drunk after he crashed a mc....fucking idiot but its sad

Thanks bud................no I never really get the urge anymore.

Sometimes when stressed out I feel like saying fuck it,but it would be a death sentence.

Lots of people have asked me if it bothers me if they drink around me..............not at all, actually seeing someone who gets sloshed helps me to remember the road I was on................which was truly a road to Hell in my case.

I find that a leisurely 10 pints, once, or twice a week, is enough to prevent alcoholism......Well, it works for me.

If I'm not mistaken, Wes is in Buffalo. With those long, cold, snowy winters, you can't blame people for hitting the bottle. What else are you supposed to do?
