I love the stationary bike, just peeled off 18.6 miles in an hour. However, my ass hurts like a b$$tch around the 35 minute mark. Is there something a person can put on a bike seat (that wont move around) to cushion my precious ass?
Bike seats need to be the width of your sit bones (the two bones that stick out in your butt- essentially the high point of your pelvic girdle). If they are too narrow the saddle presses up into the soft region between your legs and causes numbness.
On the other hand heavily padded saddles cause the same issue, with the foam pushing in the same area. Most gym bikes have saddles far too heavily padded and often far too wide.
So the answer to your question is to find a seat that fits with little padding. Tough to do unless you own the stationary bike.
