Had a few instances in my family over the years with folks getting bent outta shape and yelling and storming out, but never anyone throwing down.

What about you degenerate scumbags?  Any good ole fashioned family beatdowns?   :D

Yes, just once. some knob (my cousin's new boyfriend at the time) came over to settle some family stuff that he was never part of, trying to be a hero to her.
(At our other cousins huge wedding).
Was standing over our table, yelling, threatening, etc. I was trying my best to not have a scene, told him we can take it outside and not ruin the wedding.
He then decides to slap a drink off the table in front of me onto my lap, when I jumped up (because of the drink), he lunged at me. I threw a punch, it landed nicely, knocked him out.
(I'm told it was a good one anyways, it was a flash and I barely remember it, I remember everything before and after it though, sort of weird that 1 second rush/blackout adrenaline snap).

Anyways, that was it, huge brawl in the middle of a farking huge wedding party erupts after that punch. That dude got dragged out once he came to, cops came, the whole thing.
Too bad the phone thing wasn't around back 20 years ago, could have been a good video memory for me. (Not for my other cousins wedding though, I got the blame because I won I guess).

And no, I'm not a fighter/tough guy, just something that happened...

 8)

Crazy ass family anyways..

I was once at a gypsy wedding where one of the guests got beaten up so badly he died a week later. Fucking gypos. I say that because I can as I am related to the buggers.

When I got back from fighting in Bosnia, my brother started into me how he was going to college, etc... and how he didn't want to be "stuck in the army" like me, so
I just literally "saw red" and knocked him out, he fell right through a closet door (those ones with a center hinge) and I walked out of the house forever...
I used my 11 + years of saving my wages up to buy a condo and started my new life that very day & never looked back.

Probably about 20 years ago, my brother went MIA 3 days before thanksgiving. Just disappeared. Everyone was worried. My parents really, I was tired of his shit at the time.

Well, he shows up on Thanksgiving and my parents are crying and so upset... My mom especially.

He shrugged it off like it was nothing, and for some reason it just inflamed me... I was so pissed, I jumped on him and choked him out.

My asshole cousin once kicked his mom out (my aunt) of his house on xmas day. She had no money for a taxi and was far from home and they knew this.

I get very mad when I think of this, but she is dreadfully annoying but still. On that given day, not the time for such bullshit.

No, I told my parents a few weeks later (over lunch I invited them to) that while I love them, that under no
circumstances did I want to see my brother again.
I NEVER did get along with him in the first place, he was a very anti-military guy!  He ended up being an IT Hipster, lives alone.

We always just had my mam and dad over on Christmas, both my sisters are fat and are pieces of shit not welcome in my house and can imagine there would be shit if they did as they are shitbags.

I thought the military teaches people to not react blindly.

Sounds like it's not your brother who has "issues".

MOS, would it be a good idea to throw hands, since you said "you are done with me?" This may solve our dilemma.

I didn't react blindly, you weren't there so the comment isn't true.
I took his crap, listened to him until I absolutely couldn't take anything anymore- this was
AFTER I warned him off, and tried to leave the room, but he pushed me physically.
"THEN, I reacted and at that it was ONLY 1 punch to the jaw"

But thats the thing: If this was not your brother, you could have been in jail for assault (I assume your brother didn't press charges). In any other incident, you would be screwed in terms of the law. If someone pushes you too far (with words, as your brother did), do you always slug them?

I thought you'd solve any dispute with a good old fashioned posedown.
