He's trained for quite a few years, actually. The basketball brochure from 4 years back mentioned that Phil was an avid weightlifter, the strongest kid on the team, and listed his weights on the major lifts. IIRC- His playing time decreased from his soph year on, as he gained weight and focused more on lifting and less on bball shape. So it's probably likely- if he made hige muscle gains from age 20-22, that he was using some kinda gear at those ages until now.
Actually, I suffered an injury that still plagues me today, which is why my minutes went down and not to mention that I had a very poor attitude. It is interesting that people think they know what my so called 'focus' was when they didn't even know me back then to know what I weighed in at. For everyone's info, I was 175-180lbs while playing bball in college and didn't 'focus' on weights until I was finished with the team. Using gear while playing ball wasn't even going on which is also interesting how everyone who doesn't have any previous history playing a sport at a higher level than high school will make ignorant claims...probably because of their own lack of ability.
Did you check me piss bro while I was in college, because the NCAA did, a few times as regular procedure that is conducted randomly throughout the year and especially during March Madness for your information. If I was using, please ol' wise one, please enlighten me because if you look at the NCAA rule book on banned-substances, you'll see that we were checked for many things such as creatine and even particular substances found in red bull energy drinks so just give it a rest man because you don't have any clue of what you are talking about. I don't feel like I have to defend myself in any way, but I just cannot understand the lack of respect. Respect the fact that yes, there are some people that are just more genetically inclined than others, which is why I have had success in every sport I have played in. I knew guys who had small ass calves, never lifting a bit and could dunk with ease, which made me mad because I had to work hard for that. I later realized that genetics are what set apart the good from the OMG he's the man! By no means is this a direct attack at anyone, just a statement of reality and TRUTH. If you knew what I went throughout college, then I would probably not even respond, but since you haven't a damn clue, I find that quite rude and disrespectful, but hey, its the boards right! No harm, No foul right!
Peace!
