i don't know maybe it's just me and no offense to any PRINCE FANS, but isn't the news coverage going a bit overboard? i mean cnn, hln, msnbc, fox news showing this for HOURS nonstop his passing? and now the news programs this morning that's their 1st story and their going to go on and on about it and the cable news channels are going into day 2 of it?....cities around the world lighting up buildings in purple?...GOOD THING nothing of importance is going around the world that affects millions of lives?...

i can say i was never much of a fan, although i think he was of course very talented.. but in truth,  what had he done since like the 80's and 90's? was he selling out football stadiums and arenas around the world year after year? were his albums (cd's) selling big time around the world for years now? did he have countless hits around the world? he won alot of awards i'll give him that and i guess was influential to other artists, it just seems that he is now being OVER=PRAISED...

it's like he's being seen at the level of elvis, michael jackson... i'm thinking geez, if they give this much media attention to his passing, what in the world are they going to do for someone like MADONNA?... (regardless if anyone thinks she is a whore, untalented, whatever)....

In other words, let the man die in peace?

I don't believe that story for one second. They knew full well how Prince played guitar, they practiced and rehearsed together. Very few people especially nowadays improvise guitar solos especially on songs that aren't theirs.

MAKE GETBIG GREAT AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

Read the Rolling Stone interview.Prince held back from the others some of the solo.
My brother was backstage two years later and they played the clip in the green room. He said the guys in Metallica, Black Sabbath, and Skynyrd were all supervised and impressed with his solo.

Actually his ticket sales for his concerts were always great. Albums sales not so much, but MJ's were shit as well and he didn't do much the last 10 years of his life. Prince and MJ together have won less Grammy's than fucking Kanye West. MJ is nowhere near Prince's level. People don't seem to understand what it takes to produce, arrange, compose and perform an entire album by yourself. MJ was great but musically nowhere near Prince's level.

Here's a trick question for all you Prince fans: what is his best album?  (Hint: it's not the one you're probably thinking of).  8)

Sign 'o' the times....Obviously

The correct answer is 1999!  The others were good too, but he did his best work with the Revolution as his band.  I can't wait to hear his posthumous albums.  There was a period when he was writing a song and day and recording a new song a week.  He supposedly has a vault of several albums worth of music that has never been released.  That could be some good stuff.  Bay likey!  8)

I used to listen to the Purple Rain and Thriller albums back to back. While I enjoyed Michael Jackson's album I preferred Purple Rain which had more good tracks imo. PIP little guys!

Sad news. Guy was a serious talent. 2016 is just scything them down. Musicians everywhere should be looking over their shoulders. Keef excepted, 'natch.

The direction society is going nowadays.. I'm not surprised people are dropping like flies. I'd lose my will to live too, and I'm sure this is a trend all across the board, only we are noticing it with celebs because of the publicity.

TMZ

Prince had OD'd on Percocet days before his death, and he ingested so much, EMTs had to administer a "save shot" at the airport where his plane made an emergency landing to save his life.
Sources in Moline, Illinois tell TMZ, Prince's entourage told responders he had taken the painkiller after his Atlanta concert which triggered the emergency.  Percocet is a painkiller which contains a combination of acetaminophen and oxycodone, an opioid. It is highly addictive.
We're told Prince was taking painkillers for a hip problem. We're told he had corrective surgery for his hips around 2010.

As we reported, Prince went to his local Walgreens 4 times in the week leading up to his death. We got a photo of Prince in the parking lot of the Walgreens hours before he died. Witnesses say he was pacing and agitated, waiting for someone to bring out his meds.
