The WBF was going to die anyway. The drug testing and silly costumes were too much:)

Plus half of their athletes did that high-fat diet and came in super bloated.

But still, the positive side is that nothing can be worse than the often terrible IFBB judging. I hope that the PDI does well.

No I dont think so ,most are just waiting for some firm exsistance and a place to go to , every company needs a head office so speak !!! Plus I think if there was some deffinite movement from sponcers on the subject that would help, but all in all most are awear of W Demillias ablitys , I think the big problem has been with the little bits of info being released at varing times , he would have been better of having a big press conference with all details worked out , new pros sighned on , sponcers there and the anouncment of the first big event !!!! with a big prize purse !!!

I think to people are under estimating the potential in endorsements.  As you knwo there are 6 shows this year in Europe.  There will be more next year and in other countries.  There are huge supplements companies abroad who will be looking for PDI athletes to sponsor. And when the orient opens up watch out!  Everyone knows how the Japanese and Asian markets are and how much money they spend.

You are right, Keith. I know back in the early 90s, there were huge crowds that would follow the athletes in public during the Euro and Rus Grand Prix events

Exactly. I have long ranted how the "International" should be put back in the IFBB.

There are 200 + nations in the world, incorporating an international viewpoint seems to be the prudent thing to do.

I think Bob Chick presented himself about as well as he could in that clip, given his genetic limitations.

240 and Adam Empire, priceless commentary ;D I'm a little too young to remember, but do either of you guys remember what was going through your heads when bodybuilders wore fashions like that and striped spandex bodysuits?

It's sad.  The style snafus of that time permeated ALL parts of our culture.
Rappers wore jheri curls.  Rock stars wore spandex.  Citizens wore tight pants and tall socks.  Bodybuilders did what everyone else did.  And, just like in some circles, there are people today who are still dressing like it's the 80s/90s.

PS.... Hi Mike Arvilla!

Sounds hilarious. Boy, the Jheri curl is something that almost nobody could wear these days. It is like a black mullet, totally unacceptable.

We may very well be underestimating Wayne, but we could be overestimating him too. It takes a lot of skill and flat-out luck to construct a Pro Division in any sport. I am intrigued, but nothing is certain at this point in time.

The excitement is here- the fan website www.prodivisionbbing.com gets 4000 hits a week.  Everyone is dying to see the real site. It's the number one topic on the boards.  Sponsors and mags follow the boards.

Once the landslide starts, there's no stopping it.

Hah, kudos

You're talking more and more like a promoter by the day 240 (with the same flair for stretching the truth as you might give credit to shawn for) :)

Number one topic on the boards.. haha brilliant.

Well I hope that nothing happens to any IFBB pro that simply goes and watches a PDI event.  I am pretty sure the IFBB legally cannot forbid anyone whether signed or not to go do what they want todo on their free time.  I am pretty sure the IFBB doesn't own these guys (except one, Chic). And if a company is spnsoring a show then I would think the BB is obligated to appear in their booth or whatever or be in default of their contract.  That whole paragraph Ron sounds like a kingdom ruled by the IFBB and unless its subjects do what they are told they will be beheaded or even worse get kicked out of the IFBB (heaven forbid).

This type of comment is totally out of line. To say Chick is owned is an offensive statement. At what point   in time did a fat has been become the definitive statement on any issue or question other than " where in the nearest all you can eat buffet?"

What did you ever accomplish, hungout with Kaz . . . what else puts you on the inside?

My advise to you is to be respectful, or you might find yourself getting a new asshole ripped for ya, champ.

Play nice.

The Beef.

PRO DIVISION INC ANNOUNCES THE FIRST GROUP OF EUROPEAN EVENTS

Pro Division Inc is proud to announce the initial events on their European schedule. Listed are the first three events. Other PDI European events will be announced in our next press release.

DATE          CONTEST& LOCATION                                   PRIZE MONEY
Oct 20th       Slovak Pro Championships, Kosice, Slovakia             $30,000.
Oct 21st       Hungarian Pro Championships, Budapest, Hungary     $30,000.
Oct 22nd      British Pro Championships, London, England              $30,000.

PDI promoters will be paying full expenses for a minimum of eight athletes and they will cover hotel for most of the other athletes who will be traveling on their own money. Athletes receiving full expenses will not only receive their travel but also a private room at each location and $75. expense money per night at each location.

The judging panels will be different for each event in order to make each competition as impartial and non-discriminatory as possible. The panels will feature judges from different amateur and pro organizations from all over the world as well as recently retired pro bodybuilders. All events will be judged under the new and innovative PDI judging system.

Pro Division CEO Wayne S. DeMilia states, “We are ecstatic with the response we have received in the amount of promoters who have come forward to be part of this new venture. The promoters who were more advanced in their promotional preparation will be doing shows in our opening year. The other promoters are already organizing their events for the 2007 season. “

These events occur one month after the initial PDI event, Night of Champions XXVII. NOC will be offering $50,000. in prize money plus the $5,000. NOC ring.

In closing, DeMilia announces, “As we have stated previously, 2006 is only our first year and we feel we are ahead of schedule. There was much skepticism on whether or not we would even have one event. We are still on course to have a minimum of 6 shows this fall, 12 to 15 shows in 2007, and 25 pro events encompassing all major continents by the 2010 season.”

Anyone wishing to purchase tickets for any of the announced 2006 PDI events or any athletes interested in competing should do so by contacting us at prodivisioninc@yahoo.com.
