Despite his fiery immigration rhetoric, is Donald Trump actually a supporter of amnesty?

Appearing on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” Friday, host Joe Scarborough asked Trump what he would do about the estimated 11 million illegal immigrants living in the country once America secured its southern border. After arguing the real number of illegal immigrants is much higher and saying the first thing America needs to do is “take the bad” illegal immigrants and “get them the hell out,” Trump sounded like he was open to providing some type of pathway to legalization for the remainder.

“And then the other ones — and I’m a very big believer in merit system, I have to tell you,” Trump said. “Because some of these people have been here, they’ve done a good job, you know, in some cases sadly they’ve been living under the shadows.”

“We have to do something,” he continued. “So whether it’s merit or whether it’s whatever, but I’m a believer in the merit system. If somebody’s been outstanding, we try and work something out.”

donald trump was a democrat for most of his adult life.   He's made many public statement supporting many dem/liberal positions.  Pick ANY issue, I'll show you a trump liberal position for it. Any.

So. I was a Democrat for nearly twenty years. Now I'm not.

In 2008, Trump's wedding buddy from 2006, hilary, lost to obama.  At that point, he started hating on obama.  He's not a dem-hater, he's an obama hater.  His core belief system is still democrat.  

I disagree. On military, border control, crime, guns...  most of the major issues that divides the parties Trump leans more to the right.

So 'the kind of man he is' = a democrat that hates obama and disrespects Repubs on a daily basis.   He's immature and irrational.  He's impulsive and answers before thinking.

I acknowledge your opinion on his personality traits. I wasn't a big fan of LBJ personally myself.

Nobody can say he's running a good campaign.  Underachieving on many fronts, and that comes from other republicans supporting him now.  WAY behind hilary on fundraising, not filling key roles.   I think he's tanking it, yes, I do.  He's bold and gives no fcks, and maybe he thinks hilary - a friend for decades - is gonna do some good thigns as president.

Nobody? I'm not so sure you should be so quick to speak for others. He wins. And he continues to win. Despite the establishment doing everything they can to see him fail. He defied all odds, rewrote the rules and changed everything. Trumps is a winner through and through.

He beat out some real heavy weights and did so handily. Seventeen of them. Hilary can barely contend with a 74 year old socialist.

That's my take.  NOTHING to do with any group.  I don't think elections are fixed.  I do think "Hilary winning and taking as much congress with her as possible" is trump's ultimate goal on this little adventure.  

Really? A man like Trump. A fanatically ambitious man consumed by his own greatness who has a very real chance to make history and be the leader of the world and give the finger at so many big shots who dismissed him as a joke would instead would opt as his "ultimate goal" to put Hilary in office and win a Democratic congress.

It's issues like that which worry me.   We don't know what trump believes.   I think he's being more honest when he explains his compassion, in his own words there - than when he's reading a teleprompter with conservative points, 5 hours after meeting with 100milloion $ conservative donors lol.

He's changed positions on letting the syrians come into our country - He supported it even AFTER ISIS promised to sneak their people in.  Yes, trump supported letting these "refugees" come into the country.

The United States should take in some refugees from Syria, Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump said Tuesday night.
"I hate the concept of it, but on a humanitarian basis, you have to," Trump said in his first Fox News appearance in two weeks, appearing on "The O'Reilly Factor."

"This was started by President Obama when he didn't go in and do the job he should have when he drew the line in the sand, which turned out to be a very artificial line," Trump said in reference to Obama's red-line warning to Syrian leader Bashar Assad in 2013. "But you know, it's living in hell in Syria. There's no question about it. They're living in hell, and something has to be done."

Asked if he would have removed Assad, Trump said "something should have happened" after it was revealed that he used sarin gas on his own people.

"Probably, in retrospect, they should have gone in and done something with Assad. But you know, Assad is not our biggest problem because Assad and ISIS are actually fighting," Trump explained. "So now what we're doing is we're fighting ISIS and ISIS wants to fight Assad. Some people could say, 'Why don't you just let them fight out and you take out the remnants?'"

Big difference. Paying off someone to have your way in a business dealings is one thing. Accepting bribes and going against what you campaign for and promised your electorate is quite another.

If I throw some extra ching your way to speed up the permits and the approval process of a construction project that's the cost of doing business in the real world. Selling missile technology to China so you can line your own pockets and fund your and your party's campaign is sleazy.

On getbig - I predicted the exact date trump would announce, and I predicted he'd win the GOP primary when nobody else thought it was possible. 

I also predicted he'd either win, or lose, by 40 states, that it won't be close.  It's gonna be 1984, one way or the other.
