I want to be as big, lean, explosive and strong as possible.

Endurance is also important. ppls with 20 inch arms curling those 30 pound dumbbells are just pathetic. the muscle that they have is not useful for survival and dominance...

That's not a very good argument in today's world. Chances of you running into a situation where your life is in actual danger are slim to none. Unless you're involved in illegal dealings which could go awry, I wouldn't worry about ninjas attacking you on your way home from work.
A statement like this would have made sense in a world with no law/order/police/etc...
I'm not sure where you're from, maybe in your country shit like this actually is a danger, but in most developed countries we are lucky enough that we don't need to be athletic to survive. The most athletic thing I do in my day is walk over to the grocery store. I doubt that will change any time soon.

Police aint gonna do shit where i am from, they all corrupt and dont give a fuck. Its not like Uganda but still people do a lot of stupid shit and its better to know how to handle yourself.

I see all these people on Instagram trying to squat, bench even hip thrust on Smith Machines extremely heavy weight. I just can't for the life of me figure out why?

Why does a man, that does not compete want to bench 400 pounds?

When I was lifting heavy, I was doing it for a competition. To be honest, I'll never do it again. Too hard on the body...especially if you are not on PED's.

When you take PED's, their are certain exercises one can do heavy without putting a toll on the body.

Kids/Twenty somethings are the ones lifting heavy now. Maybe to boast on Facebook of their PB (I couldn't figure out that terminology until someone explained it to me)

Plus...I can't stand when these kids say "gainz".

That is all.

I dont go below 8 reps, I always do DLs, squats, C&J and bench press. Still use heavy weight but not below 8 reps with decent form.

wadda mess

Normally I would be offended, but this coming from a guy with miniature fists, wrists and cock, I kinda feel sorry for you.

You can always do some pump sets with those heavy ass 30 pound dumbbells and feel better.

I began my training life as a bodybuilding enthusiast, eventually stepping onstage several times in a thong. Even then, however, I considered myself a "power bodybuilder". Meaning I didn't desire muscular mass without equal corresponding strength. My heroes were all incredibly strong physique champions.

But one day I realized the actual lifting, and the resulting strength, was what ultimately motivates me. Tanning, oiling, posing ... not at all.

I've always had a passion for big, strong things. Mechanical, physical or otherwise.

So I transitioned into powerlifting. Competed several times.

Now I simply consider myself a strength athlete. Entering meets isn't the goal. I absolutely love lifting and the catharsis it brings.

I'm good at it and have a natural talent. It's never been for anyone else.

I feel a calming effect from intense strength training. A sense of accomplishment. My great strength is what makes me different from the masses.

The gym's my church.

I agree with a lot of this.

Training is almost a religious experience for me. And it's quite incredible how training alters mood in a positive way.

and you can wreak your joints chasing a pointless goal and end up like this guy in later life, yeah buddy

When you are not doing physical labour, non-training people are amazed when you perform an act of strength which is (in their opinion, not in ours) very amazing. Lifting a washing machine or a fridge or whatever.
I know from experience that some intelligent-even feminist-women are turned on by this.
I am not kiddin here.
