It actually takes about 7 days to build a mobile home.  Clayton Homes are built on a huge production line indoors so there's no delays for weather, material, etc.   There is   However Its not permitted yet until its set on the property and it completes 2 more inspections for plumbing, electrical, etc.  The inspection today was the delivery inspection of goods to take care of any cosmetic issues.
You seem like a guy who has a pretty good understanding and knowlegde of getting stuff done.

Great stuff, Vince.

Given the 57k price for the home I'd have probably been a bit more extravagant with the land location - but fair enough.  I live (rent) in a shithole that is on million dollar land (inner city) and I've lived in better houses further away from work and I'd definitely say the shithole in a great spot is the better.

Well it was 50k but its just a 20 minute drive to downtown Greenville.   However, the reason I moved outside Greenville is to get lower property taxes and less restrictions on things.   I've lived in the city before in Asheville and while being in walking distance to Beanstreets Coffeehouse, Orange Peel, and the Food Co-Op it was ultimately just expensive and did not allow me to save money.

Our society is about keeping up with the Jones, having the appearance of success, and spending on the latest things.  Like I said before, I can afford a 200,000 home and I was easily approved for one but I simply have no need for a large house.  I'm a very frugal person and a minimalist.  A 2 bedroom home is more than enough for my needs and the money I will be saving, I can use for retirement in addition to having a high quality of life.

Well, I was more talking about the 12 minute drive to work and the 10 minute drive to the gym.  It didn't even occur to me once that there wasn't food and coffee within walking distance of your new house  :)

No matter what I post here I don't compare to the resident buffoon/bullshitter known as Vince G CSN MFT PHD.

Here he is boasting about having a portable home way outside his city. At least he has a resident manager to keep an eye on

his dwelling and Jeep while he is at work.

You claim various things from time to time that smack of bs. Eg., that you earn $70,000/year. If you did you wouldn't be buying that portable dwelling, etc.

Maybe you haven't experienced better things in life. So be it, be content with what you can afford.

He is content with what he can afford.

If anything, you are the one who is not content with what he can afford.
