I can't get too concerned over a driveway although I'll be sealing it after its done along with the deck.   I'll prob have the deck done this weekend to allow it to dry...the cherry redwood will look awesome

you can't get too concerned? But you're going to seal it... Ok.. here's a pro tip. If they don't use rebar, they don't dig it down and pack the foundation and pour at least 4 inches, you can save your money on sealant, it's like putting lipstick on a pig

Its a licensed contractor who has been doing outdoor landscaping, driveways and sidewalks for over 30 years so he's not going to risk his reputation and cut corners.  Not only that, its still going to be inspected as well as everything else.

https://www.constructionprotips.com/jobsite-tips/prep-crack-free-concrete/

The only thing guaranteed with concrete is that it will crack.

Vince, have your boy throw some rebar chairs/cinder brick, wire mesh and pour that shit. Put some expansion joints in it and hol for the best. It should be at least 7" at the apron though. I'm sure your inspector will fail it if your guy cut corners though. Don't listen to the haterz, you're doing alright.

No compacted AP40 (or 60), no mesh or reinforcement to speak of. Just some cheap shuttering (that looks to be all over the place) and a presumably mass pour.

Nice job Vince. That’s not going to crack AT ALL.

You gone for the cheapest you could find, right?

Driveway is done folks.   I have to sign some insurance paperwork tommorrow and then head to Lowes for some brushes and Thompson's Advanced Water Seal to get the deck taken care of.  I'll inspect it when I get there to work on the deck

Based on the picture of the prep work for the drive way, I'm sure they did a stellar job. Congrats!

Is it the angle of the picture or street slope or is the trailer house crooked?

Why not 200 amp? That's code for my home. -Found this out when I had a new electrical panel installed because the original one was reputed to cause fires, although it had worked fine for 30 years.

-Was wondering the same thing. The problem is with the camera man. Fixed for clarity.

One big slab of concrete with no expansion joints is very interesting.

is that luxury vinyl plank flooring glue down or snap together? do you have a crawl space if so hopefully more than 17 inch. are there footings for foundation?

Here's the crawl space if you're wondering.  Went under there to check things

Hard to tell the area from the photo but it appears to be within the allowable size before needing an expansion joint and has no firm edge restraints other than the kerb on one side so it should be fine

Good. My driveway is wider and much longer. Even with several expansion joints, it's cracked. But it is also 40 years old and has a pretty steep slope. It has withstood a few minor earth quakes over the years. When neighbors have had new driveways installed, it is pretty clear from the demolition that rebar was not in the original builders plans. Lots of folks have gone with concrete pavers instead of a solid surface. That's good for water runoff, but not so good on the rare occasions when we get enough snow to need to shovel it off. Wonder what it cost to heat the driveway? This would definitely solve the snow shoveling problem.
