Would you bet on that?

I bet if he was concussed and he got back in the same game that his coaching staff and AD would be looking at a huge ton of legal trouble.

Are you wanting to go on record that it happened and potentially cost people their jobs just so you can be the "big man on campus" coach?

Do you think they would agree with your statement if asked?

At the time he went down there was an sideline test by the AT. The hit came in the first quarter with time to spare. He came out and showed all of the signs of concussion and didn't pass. He sat out the rest of the first and second quarter plus half time. He asked to go in, team doc performed another field test and he passed. Protocol is to go a dr after the game and when he gets cleared he can return to play but he still had to sit out the following game.

Ok. So what school was this? When did this occur. Who was the coach, the team doctor, and the athletic director.

Please make sure to include your sons full legal name in the response as I'm going to call them and make sure they all agree with your version of events.

I mean, they should verify this and should be held accountable for their actions.

OMG, to put a kid back in AFTER showing all the concussion signs?

That's beyond horrible.  Read about them.  I had to write an article on them and I was shocked at how serious they really are.  Particularly AFTER a person gets the concussion, they're extremely vulnerable for a few hours.

I cannot imagine why any team doctor would perform another concussion test, at all.   IMO, and you can be honest with us... adding that "caught a concussion and recovered and returned in the same game" is one of those heroic, legendary quotes that people use, to show they're overcoming great obstacles.   No doctor would diagnose a concussion, as you said he showed "all of the signs"... then let him return in the same game... and this is a minor, a high school kid?

Is that part exaggerated/embellished, for the sake of showmanship?  It's cool, if so.

Haha, wait. Let me post it right here. I'll tell you what hot shot. You've been talking A LOT of shit but you seem to be the one closest to me but yet you refuse to come down (no, not to fight ::)). This happens everyday in almost every city or town in the country. Get serious. Don't for one second act like you give a shit. lol

please address my point.  Are you aware of the dangerous window a person is in, following a concussion?

A team doc testing them after diagnosing a concussion = makes no sense.

Did this really happen?  Or is this a macho, reputation-building thing?  Did you stretch the truth a little to make the story legendary, without realizing a team doc who saw "ALL of the concussion signs" would NEVER let a high school player return to that game?

You didn't answer, when I asked the last 2 times.   ???     Did it really happen?

Why would I come to see you? There is absolutely no reason for me to do so. You do absolutely nothing that I care to be involved with.

You are the one who just asked me to make a bet. If you're going to call for a bet then it's up to you to provide all of the information so I can take you up on it.

Are you going to provide the information for the bet or are YOU talking all the shit?

I would come to your place, but really. For what? I don't want to have anything to do with your business or your environment, so what would be the purpose?

To waste my gas to say I did it?

That's the thinking of a 16 year old. That's not me.

I say it didn't happen. You say it did. I'll be happy to find out if you were being truthful if you give me the info to do so.

Which I doubt you will.

Kid fails the concussion test, has "all the symptoms", according to he team doctor ...

And the doctor lets a kid play again, that same game?  In 2016, a doc specialized in teen football contact, let a concussed played back into the game?

I cannot imagine any doctor would risk everything like this.   We aren't in 1983.   Doctors KNOW the dangers in the post-concussion hours.

What are the Cali rules on a concussed high school player returning to the game?

Bro, I think this story isn't making sense.  Want to revise it?

OMFG, the lies just keep on coming. 1 for 7 and 4 rushes for negative 10 yards in barely a single quarter, folks. If it weren't for the concussion, he was on track for a career day of completing 4 of 28 passes and rushing 16 times for NEGATIVE 40 yards. Do coaches leave kids in at QB with that incredible stat line or was he yanked from the game because he was so friggin awful and good old Pinnochijoe needs to tell another tall tale to save face and make it sound like his son was some incredibly brave Brian Piccolo storyline as opposed to "My son is a horrible QB and the coach made a terrible mistake listening to me when I lied and told him my son had been offered a partial QB scholarship at Oregon." Amazing how this guy just keeps lying and lying. He's like the Energizer Liar.

This is updated of course. I'm sure that this instance we are mentioning was possibly last year, but I doubt it's changed too much.

http://cifstate.org/sports-medicine/concussions/CIF_Concussion_Info_Sheet.pdf

Item 1 states that since 2012 the law states that any student who may have a concussion during a game or practice must be "removed from the activity for the remainder of the day."

It's the motherfucking law!

Wow.  Any doctor that lets a concussed player return to that game certainly isn't following protocol.  Any parent should be very angry that the school would let this happen.

Medical science and concussion care experts have found that a concussed athlete must take a gradual and progressive, stage by stage, step by step return to practice under medical supervision to minimize risks and allow the brain to properly recover.

From the document.

"You are receiving this information sheet about concussions because of California state law AB 25 (effective January 1, 2012), now Education Code § 49475:
1. The law requires a student athlete who may have a concussion during a practice or game to be removed from the activity for the remainder of the day.
2. Any athlete removed for this reason must receive a written note from a medical doctor trained in the management of concussion before returning to practice.
3. Before an athlete can start the season and begin practice in a sport, a concussion information sheet must be signed and returned to the school by the athlete and the parent or guardian."

Sounds like a major issue.  I wonder if other players were allowed, or even encouraged, to play through concussions.

Is this negligence, or something more malicious?

Does coach receive credit for blowing the whistle on endangered high school athletes here?

If he writes strongly worded letters and makes moves on the staff. Yes.

Coach,

If asked, would you be willing to testify that a licensed team physician allowed a diagnosed concussed player to return to the same game?

Brave of you, bro.  But you likely weren't aware of the dangers in the hours following a concussion.  Now that you've been informed, you're quiet.  I'm guessing you're really mad a medical professional allowed concussed players to play.  Sickening.  I know.

No way could anyone lie about this.

People are pretty upset the team doc allowed this.  Coach ratted him out, it would appear.
Props, coach.  The way you encouraged outrage here, it worked.

LOL this thread just gets better and better.

Yeah it totally makes sense for a doctor to clear someone who is concussed to go back in two quarters later. Yet are forced to sit out the following game due to the concussion. Just come to grips with the fact that your son is mediocre AT BEST, not some brave D1 warrior. You old, pretentious homo.
