Good post Baby Herc! Georgia is quite impressive!

HOWEVER!!!!!! Although you can claim him as a resident, Mr Lee Haney is SOUTH CAROLINA born and bred!!!!!

Hawaii.  Easy.  Great weather year round.  Plenty of places to train.  Beautiful people.

Nope.  Surfing easily owns Hawaii.  There is no way bodybuilding could flourish.

I don't think any sport owns Hawaii.  If we're talking about the best places to train, it's Hawaii hands down.  If we're talking about the best places to hold bodybuilding competitions, then Hawaii is a good, not great, forum.  We have two NPC shows a year and they each draw well over 1,000, which is pretty good.  A pro show could probably do even better.  I guess onlyme will find out.   :)

I'm in ATL. Lots of great places to train. There are tons of bodybuilding shows. There are shows from the NPC, INBF, NGA, Musclemania, ANBC, and we have hosted the Olympia a couple of times not to mention the GNC Show of Strength)

If you look at which state has produced the most Mr. O, I believe, California has never produced a Mr.O, even thought the depth is of physiques is there. IMO, the qaulity of physiques has gone down considerably in Cali.

Southern states+New York+Cali all are the biggest areas for bodybuilding.

Phatlanta- I should have known.  It seems like bodybuilders stand out more in GA even though there are alot of them. GA is big with the bodybuilding scene but it could explode any time even more.

Cali may not have produced a true Mr. Olympia I don't know but it definitely was the catalyst for a great deal. Cali up ;D

Where's Murr-land at? The state that produced Kev Levrone, Vince Taylor, Papoose Turner, and I believe Don Long (or is that DC or VA)

Yes, some great bodybuilders from our state Baby Herc, but with something like 35 NPC shows per year and the awesome beaches, ya gotta give it up for the FLA. ;D

Florida is definately a bodybuilding powerhouse. That state cranks out some great competitors. My training is going well despite my knee problem (tendonitis). Can't really train quads. I'm not competing this year, so I have time to let it heal. It started when I was training for the 05 Nationals. I plan on doing possibly the Eastern Seaboard next year and then maybe the Jr. Nationals or the Team Universe.

Sorry to hear that about the knees. The joints can take a beating in this game. My back gives me trouble now and then and I can't do any heavy squats (unless I do smith machine ones...go figure).
Try doing the elyptical trainer and the stair climber for a few weeks and take the glucosimine-chandrotin tabs.
Good luck, Howard

Def not.  Can you guys even get to the gym when it is snowing?
We don't get all that much snow, bro. It not like you're talking Minnesota or someplace like that. When we do get snow, we do what we gotta do to get to the gym anyway. That's what shovels and plows are for.

They make 'em tough in Jersey, baby.  ;)

No offense, but not the Jersey boys I have met.  You from the north or south?
I not sure what crowd of "Jersey boys" you were hanging out with...they have those type in every state, bro.  ;D

I'm from north Jersey, right outside of Manhattan. Not that south Jersey, Philadelphia-scene.

I know a few southern guys, maybe that explains it.  Only one is not a wimp in my opinion.  ;D
Where you from, cap?

Basically take the opening credits footage from the Sopranos with Tony driving, and that's the Jersey I know and love (sometimes). I can tell every location from that footage, as probably anyone else from northern New Jersey.

I maintain that there's no more hardcore gym in America than Diamond Gym in Maplewood, NJ. Metroflex sounds similar, but from pics it looks cleaner.  ;D It's got all the hype now because its the of Ronnie and Branch :P
