315 is fine. Kevin was talking about squating in the 400''s for reps..

He should go for volume now. Look at the results the likes of Nimrod King got from light weight and volume!

At the 5:00 mark he squats 405 for reps. This was one week out from the 2016 Mr. O

I was squaring 315 for 20 reps  using the Smith Machine into my 50's. Kept my legs big and full. I would do 4 or 5 sets of leg presses working up to 10 plates on each side. Then I would go over to the Smith machine do 20.reps with either 135 or 225 sometimes. both. Then crank out 20 with 315. I would sometimes get 2 20 rep sets with 315.depending how spent I was. Worked great for me.

He obviously needs to change up his leg training. Think he would get better results doing higher rep more controlled movements. He could get a lot more out of doing the same weight on the Smith Machine by changing his stance and foot placement. Can focus more on the muscle, and not have to worry about stabilizing the weight. But what the fuck do I know.

High reps don't bring mass.

For legs they actually might.

I know plenty of people praising volume for legs.

all bullshit aside kevin should learn from what happened to ronnie coleman

the maryland muscle machine is to old to be doing the weights he did in his younger years.   kevin isnt a powrlifter and never was, in his mind he was.

Agreed - many forms of intensity, he now needs volume and lighter weights

So Kevin was benching & squatting 405 1 week out from the Olympia... and then started claiming injuries? Yeah right.

In 1994, Dorian tore his bicep while performing barbell rows. He said that he pretty much had to stop training his upper body. He still retained most of his mass during that 6 week period. He still competed. And he won.

Levrone was benching & squatting 405 leading up to the 2016 Olympia, which means, he was healthy.

The guy needs to reevaluate the way he is training. It obviously is not working for him the same way it did in his 20's and 30's. That is if he is truly serious about competing again.

Yup...Old people think that because they're sore in areas they never been sore in the past that it's an injury...Kevin isn't touching those numbers if he was injured. Fact of the matter is he wasn't injured and could walk into any department store and buy skinny jeans off the rack and fit into them...

It's 315. Also, his technique is mostly low back. Guy's no expert squatter.

Four plates on a Smith isn't 405. Three ain't 315, etc.

The Smith machine is a fantastic piece of apparatus on which to seriously injure oneself. Its very design makes the body exert force in an extremely unnatural fashion.

Kevin is a lousy squatter.

His leg pressing is pathetic.

Levrone's wheels are a blurry, veiny mess, and his knees have gotten thick.

It is DONE. Mr. Great Responder placed dead last at the O. He'll melt his organs for what, third last?

Holy fuck.

He is still likely on a boatload of gear. In every other social media post he is selling crap just like the rest of the 'fitness pro's".

Is he special because he used to be great, went on a pile of gear, ate/trained/dieted and got on stage with a special invite? I must be missing something. It did give the Olympia more hype I suppose but it was the same old politically driven Olympia.

This merchandise is hilarious. "Levrone Returns".

The back should read, "Dead Last".
