Ill post a vid of my ROM and i am going right down. gym owber even commented on it saying ill get a big ass but big legs. my knees are fine i think cos my knees dont go furthur forward than my feet and i have good form. and no doubt they are growing.

When going below parellel you hit your glutes more than going parellel. Both work the quads the same amount. There have been studies done on this, check them out....
studies ...smudies... lot of things put out by studies are bogus... my friend.. i dont need studies to tell me about something i have learned from trial and error and experience... DEEP squats.. nuff said

I understand that Sarcasm's "raison d'etre" is the proliferation of.... well.... sarcasm.... but dude, ripping on a hard training, dilligent natural who not only contributes to this site in a constructive manner but has the courage and integrity to vouchsafe his advice by posting his pics? Goudy is a role model for all the newbies on these boards and has earned our respect.
More at issue should be the persistent rumour that Sarcasm (if that is your real name) is actually either a non-training 120 lb fifteen-year-old, or one of 240's alter-egos.... depending on which version of the rumour you believe. Not what weight Goudy is STARTING squatting at!!!

Heybro meant to ask u this (maybe u wont know). My calves when seen from back (like ur pics), the outside of my calfs (cant remember name) is higher than inside. Now is this just my shape or is it because im just hitting the outside harder now and that area is smaller?  Now that iv been doing seated calf work (which hits outer head) i feel them more and bigger,so hopefully they just need to catch up. davie

If you want to bring up the outside of your calfs, keep your toes close together and your heals out when you do your calf raises. Go heavy, full range of motion and higher reps. PS: Goudy you give me great insperation everytime I do back I think Goudy!

Cheers mate, my routine Monday and friday is: Seated calf raise 5x25 calf raise on leg press 5x15 (i keep heels in toes out here to try hit inside of calves more) Today (wednesday) im gonna do standing calf raise (and il try it heels out).

i know im a newbie at legs but get a block to stand on and really focus on stretch.
a guy on here sed a while ago ur legs are used to stamina. they carry u about all day. so why not hit em hard and heavy with lowever reps heavier weights. just a thought.

This is true. High reps will not shock calves into growth. Walking is the same thing. Heavy weight and full reps, then bodyweight reps to failure.....that equals 1 set. Then repeat 4-5 times.  Also do partials...3 at the bottom 3 in the middle and 3 at the top. That equals 1 set. Repeat 4-5 times.

I always thought that calves should be worked with reps ranging from 10 to about 25?? I do seated calf raise sets with 25 reps a set. calf press on leg press machine with reps of 20 standing db raise with reps of 15 and BB calf raises with reps of 10!
Thought that was a good range that should cover all the bases??

lol yea ill take a vid of that also and post it. my bench press is basically a tricep and shoulder press as they r very strong just my chest is not.
mesomorph78 does then for like 10 reps with 80kg around his waist!!!

I'm looking forward to seeing those dips....
I'm only able to use 20 to 30 kg myself, however I do weigh a hefty (fat) 100 kg myself so that might even things out a little.
