On Friday morning, Harris’s campaign website was selling a black T-shirt with an imprint of the candidate as a school girl (ranging in price from $29.99 to $32.99).

She just might end up taking this nomination.

Biden looks like he barely wants to be there.

Bernie has lost all his mojo and just comes across as old and cantankerous.

Butt guy is weak sauce and lacks the cajones to step up in a contentious environment.

Robert Francis has been relegated to Late Night Talk show fodder. Booker too cringy and fake.

That leaves Warren vs. Kamala and in that environment, Kamala easily pushes her around.

I am not saying it is going to happen but the recipe is certainly there.

The problem that any of these candidates will face long term is the current trend to go uber left in order to secure the nomination. Trump is watching and taking notes and will use these radical ideas against them like a sledgehammer as he get closer to election time.

GOOGLE: Rep. Tulsi Gabbard Breaks Out; Most Searched Candidate In 34 States During Debate

On Wednesday, the first Democratic debate featuring Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA), Sen. Amy Klobuchar (D-MN), Sen. Cory Booker (D-NJ), former HUD Secretary Julián Castro, Rep. Tim Ryan (D-OH), former Rep. John Delaney (D-MD), Rep. Tulsi Gabbard (D-HI), former Rep. Beto O’Rourke, New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio, and Washington State Governor Jay Inslee, aired on NBC and MSNBC.

As the debate heated up, Google announced that one candidate was generating a stunning surge of interest. The search and data giant sent out a tweet during the Miami debate showing that Rep. Tulsi Gabbard was the most searched candidate in 34 states. Prior to taking the stage, Gabbard held that title only in her home state of Hawaii.

In second place was Sen. Cory Booker, who was the most searched candidate in 15 states. Only in Oklahoma was Sen. Elizabeth Warren the most searched.

While Gabbard wasn’t offered great deal of speaking time during the debate, it appears she made an impression.

I agree.  As great as technology is or can be, it is also a detriment to having enough good jobs for society.

My department was at one time 12 people with basically unlimited overtime.  We are now at 6 with essentially zero overtime.

CNN Poll: Harris and Warren rise and Biden slides after first Democratic debates

WASHINGTON (CNN) — Sens. Kamala Harris and Elizabeth Warren have made steep gains after the first Democratic presidential debate, a new CNN poll conducted by SSRS. shows, with former Vice President Joe Biden's lead over the field shrinking to a narrow 5 points.

The results indicate a significant tightening in the race for the Democratic nomination.

The poll, conducted after the two-night debate, finds 22% of registered voters who are Democrats or Democratic-leaning independents backing Biden for the party's presidential nomination, 17% Harris, 15% Warren and 14% Sen. Bernie Sanders. No one else in the 23-person field tested hits 5%.

That represents a 10-point decline in support for Biden since the last CNN poll in May, while Harris, of California, has posted a 9-point increase, and Warren, of Massachusetts, has boosted her support by 8 points. No other candidates have seen significant movement since the last poll.

Harris' numbers follow a strong showing on the second night of the debates. Among those who watched or followed news coverage about them, 41% say Harris did the best job in the debates, well ahead of the 13% who say Warren had the best performance and 10% who said Biden did. Among those who say they watched all or most of at least one night of debates, Harris' showing is even stronger: 46% say she did the best job, 19% Warren, 8% Biden and 5% each named South Bend, Indiana, Mayor Pete Buttigieg and former secretary of Housing and Urban Development Julian Castro.

And 30% of potential Democratic voters now say Harris is the candidate they most want to hear more about, up from 23% who said the same in April. That figure doesn't include those who say she is their top choice for nominee.

Warren was the lone polling heavyweight on the stage in the first night of the Democratic debates on Wednesday. She turned in a solid performance that served as an introduction to a national audience who may have been hearing from many candidates for the first time.

On Thursday night, Harris and Biden shared the debate stage and faced off in one of the most memorable moments of either night. Harris asked Biden directly about his opposition to federally mandated busing as a means to integrate public schools in the 1970s, and about his comments on working with segregationist politicians during his time in the Senate. The move appears to have worked in her favor.

Harris and Biden are now about even in support among self-identified Democrats, white voters, younger voters, nonwhite women and those who tuned in to watch the debates. She outpaces him significantly among liberals and whites with college degrees. Warren challenges Biden and Sanders among independents, tops Biden and runs even with Harris and Sanders among liberals, and earns similar numbers to Harris among younger voters, whites and whites with college degrees.

Biden's strongest support continues to come among black voters (36% back Biden, 24% Harris, 12% Warren and 9% Sanders) and older voters (34% of seniors back Biden vs. 14% for Harris, 12% for Warren and just 7% for Sanders). He also tops 30% among more moderate and conservative Democratic voters (31% back him vs. 11% Harris, 10% Warren and 8% Sanders).

Biden tops the rest of the field by a wide margin as the candidate potential Democratic voters see as having the best shot to beat President Donald Trump.

Overall, 43% of potential Democratic voters say Biden has the best chance to beat Trump in 2020, 30 points ahead of his nearest competitor, Bernie Sanders. Further, 6 in 10 potential Democratic voters say it is more important to them that the party nominate a candidate with a strong chance of beating Trump than it is that they nominate someone who shares their views on major issues.

But those voters who prefer a strong shot at beating Trump aren't necessarily committed to Biden: 23% in that group say he's their choice for nominee, with Harris and Warren close behind at 18% each and Sanders the only other candidate in double digits at 10%.

Yes, this very low standard of living is coming for 95% of the USA after the inevitable financial reset. The more life is virtual for people the less they notice they are losing everything real that future generations had.

All this political stuff is for show to manage the decline. More boiling frog action going on, where the futurist is dropping hints but sounds like a kook because people have no vision.

On edge: 2020 Dems face prospect of being cut from debates

Short on support and money and bound by tough party rules, once soaring politicians may soon be seen as also-rans. They include Julian Castro, who is seeking to capitalize on his strong debate performance last week; Kirsten Gillibrand, one of her party's most outspoken feminists; and Cory Booker, who rose to stardom as the energetic mayor of Newark, New Jersey.

A difficult period lies ahead as the party begins to sort through its expansive roster of candidates. The process will help Democrats zero in on someone to challenge President Donald Trump. But it is also forcing candidates to burn through cash to stay competitive and could result in a field that's older, whiter and more male — an uncomfortable development for a party that says it prizes diversity.

Trump and GOP Report $105 Million Haul in Second Quarter

President Donald Trump’s re-election campaign and the Republican National Committee raised $105 million during the second quarter of the year and had $100 million cash on hand, Trump’s campaign manager said Tuesday, an ominous sign for Democrats in a crowded field of contenders seeking to challenge him in the general election.

“Eye-popping numbers,” the campaign’s communications director Tim Murtaugh said in a tweet. “Shows the incredible strength of support for the President, his policies and successes.”

Democrats’ Leftward Turn Was a Reaction to Hillary Clinton

It wasn’t so much that Trump was the one person who could beat Clinton, but that she was the one candidate he could beat. In other words, it was only thanks to the fact that she was so unpopular that Trump had a chance. Trump-reluctant Republicans and independents could be persuaded that he was better than Clinton — when presented with a binary choice.

The latter seems vastly more plausible for the simple reason that Trump didn’t have to convince those voters that Clinton was unlikable and a little scary; he simply had to exploit their pre-existing opinion of her. Indeed, Trump’s continued obsession with bashing Clinton points to how central she is to his identity.

This has consequences for 2020 because the White House’s entire strategy boils down to making Trump’s opponent more unlikable than he is. If Trump wasn’t responsible for Hillary’s unfavorable numbers in the first place, it remains to be seen whether he can Hillaryize another Democrat.

It may not be all that hard, though, because the Democrats are doing everything they can to keep the Flight 93 panic alive on the right. They’re doing this by running so far to the left that many Trump-skeptical Republicans feel as if they have no choice but to vote for him again. (I hear this from my fellow conservatives every day.) Democratic candidates have openly praised socialism, the Green New Deal, the abolition of private insurance, voting rights for incarcerated felons, federal funding of abortion late into pregnancy, confiscatory “wealth taxes,” and even the right to sex-change operations paid for by taxpayers.

Howard Schultz from Starbucks probably kicking himself right now. He would have easily been top of this field. He should of just said "i'm a capitalist...it's a free country, people can pay $5 for a coffee if they want". Couldn't take even a taste of the heat in the early going.

“Being honest with ourselves, we had to look at how much money we were raising, where we were in the polls,” Swalwell said at his campaign headquarters, before claiming that he “moved the needle on the debate stage with an issue I was very passionate about.”

Swalwell’s pro-gun control platform failed to gain traction, despite several aggressive policy promises, including a ban on AR-15s. The California Democrat’s repeated attacks on the National Rifle Association (NRA), though cheered by gun control activists, did little to boost his lagging candidacy.

“On the issue of gun violence, I am the champion who is saying enough is enough, and that has to be a top priority. We can’t just respond to the last mass shooting. I want to challenge our candidates to make it a priority too,” Swalwell told The Hill in an interview last month.

Throughout the course of his short-lived campaign, the congressman also attempted to position himself as a young alternative to ex-Vice President Joe Biden and Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT), urging the former to “pass the torch” during the first round of Democrat debates in Miami, Flordia.

“If we are going to solve the issue, pass the torch. If we are going to solve climate chaos, pass the torch. If we want to end gun violence and solve student debt, pass the torch,” said Swalwell to a collective gasp from the audience.

A defiant Biden hit back at the lawmaker, declaring: “I’m holding onto that torch. I want to make it clear.”

Swalwell will run for re-election for his congressional seat in the 15th District of California but faces a potentially fierce primary fight from Hayward councilmember Aisha Wahab.

The lawmaker’s departure from the race comes amid reports that left-wing billionaire and climate change crusader Tom Steyer is readying a campaign of his own.

How far left is the Democratic party going to continue to go?

Bernie is starting to look like a milquetoast center right neo-con in comparison.

Internet darling Mike Gravel might make the next presidential debate

Last month, Democrats had an unheralded, unheard-of candidate become the breakout meme star of the 2020 debates. Marianne Williamson took the internet by storm with her new-age philosophies and old, incoherent tweets.

It looks like that might happen again, as another internet darling is closing in on the benchmarks need to make the second round of the Democratic debate: The man whose campaign is run by meme teens.

Mike Gravel entered the 2020 race on the advice of some teens who heard about him on politics podcast Chapo Trap House and has become a bit of a sensation as he’s savaged everyone with highly relatable tweets about Pokémon Go.

Now, he’s announced he’s close to reaching the 65,000-donor milestone needed to make the next debate, July 30 and 31, in Detroit.

Gravel got a recent bump when Williamson sent out a fundraising email to help him out, noting that peace-loving candidates needed to support each other. He has been polling at 1%, the required threshold for the debate.

Gravel has promised not to actually seek the nomination for president, but only to join the debates to help challenge centrist candidates and move the party leftward.

The lineup for the debates will be announced on July 17.

This is good news for the Donald.  Biden is his biggest threat.  Bernie would still be my choice but he said a really stupid thing about prisoners voting which will negate his chances among old white men.

Here is another example of tongue in cheek, from an article I just posted in the Russia conspiracy thread:

"CNN was very excited about this," Carlson noted, playing a clip of the network showing the illustrations, and asking former Secret Service agent Dan Bongino whether he's read the cartoon version.

"No, because I don't want to lose neurons and about 20 IQ points by reading this kind of imbecility," he joked, asking whether the cartoons depicted Trump allowing then-White House counsel Don McGahn to testify for 30 hours to Mueller's team.

Bongino didn't mean he was literally going to lose 20 IQ points.  This is different from saying, as a matter of fact, that members of one ethnic group have a higher IQ than another.  It doesn't plug the gaping holes in your theory.

This is good news for the Donald.  Biden is his biggest threat.  Bernie would still be my choice but he said a really stupid thing about prisoners voting which will negate his chances among old white men.

Pretty much everything Bernie says is stupid.
