That's a lot of shows taco isn't it? I had planned around 2011-12 to train for my 1st amatuer show and was faring rather well until about 6wks out...then shit just went chaotic and haywire. Can only imagine how you'll feel doing that 4x a year! What about knocking it down to 2 shows a year?

do tell.

PS I am a cardio bunny already.

1. Stop all cardio the last week before any show.
Lift only moderate wts on cables , and machines the last 2 weeks.

2. Do NOT do any drastic diet manipulations  before a show.
The only thing you might do is limit water to 1 L the last  24 hrs.

3. Pose/flex/pose /flex for a least 15-20 min after each workout the last 2-3 weeks leading up to the show.
Do the mandatory poses in front of mirror and hold the flexed pose for extended times like 15-20 sec.

fuk me dude, you're ripped.
I see you compete in CPD ( classic) right?
I think that's the ideal form of bodybuilding for most of us.

Condition is all about suffering with the diet get down to zero carbs eating protein, fats and fiber drink plenty of coffee to keep your energy up get your bodyfat down then carb up to get that fullness, its pretty simple its just that a lot of bodybuilders dont have the discipline to do it.

Exactly!

I hung my trunks up back in '96 .  I wasn't willing to endure the contest prep rigors again.
I'm proud of what I did despite being nothing great LOL.

Like YOU, I always understood and accepted what you need to endure to get contest ripped.
Sometimes I miss competing, BUT, I don't miss the sacrifice and suffering to do it.

You need to learn muscle control. There's no need to contract your face when posing. Relax your facial muscles, and just smile. Otherwise it looks as though your posing is painful. That sends out negative vibes.

??? why do you recommend this? why wouldn't you just treat your last 2 weeks, exactly the same as all the other weeks leading up to the show. Side note: both shows I won, I did an hour of cardio the morning of the shows, I approached my day the same as I spent my days the entire prep, keeping everything as consistent as possible.

If you did your homework then there is no need for cardio the last week, contest week you should be ready and it just a matter of holding your condition until you get on stage.

Actually when you think about it it's a bad idea your bodyfat is very low cortisol levels are high all that extra cardio is going to mess with your cortisol and could make you look worse on contest day, relaxing and resting contest week is the best thing for your body just do intense posing sessions and practice to hold your muscle that is all the cardio you need.

I just wanted to keep everything exactly the same, not throw a wrench into my system, i felt good in the morning had a ton of energy so why not? Lose a little extra water, get some of them Butterflies out of the system, hell my second show i went to the gym and trained chest between prejudging and finals.

I stop drinking water around 10 pm the night before the show, day of the show if I need to drink something it was expresso or coffee, I usually stay around maybe 10-12% bf, so just depends, if I have to rush or not to get into shape, I can do it in probably 4 weeks if I really killed it but I like to have more time 10 weeks is good. Thanks for the compliments, your photos look good, good overall look, best of luck with the preps this year.

I treat it more or less the same, no carbing up, no sodium depleating/loading, look good 2 weeks out and you look the same/better on the day with a bit diuretic help too

Trained and ate exactly the same until 2 days before... And would do the same again
