There is more to the story than we see

This police officer was having issues with the kids going on his property and lawn. They continued to do it.

However, on this incident, it was a girl that walked on the lawn. This officers comes at her yelling and screaming, and the one in the video asked him to respect and was not the threatening one. He didn't say 'Shoot You.  He said 'I am going to sue you' if you continue acting like that.  The cop was all heated and it escalated.

Granted, there is an issue there, but this got way out of hand, and he actually fired a shot, because as his dad said 'There were 15 of them, and only 1 of him'.  The sad thing is that while the homeowner (cop) has a point, he will lose in court now because of this.

Whoever said that no punches were thrown needs to check the video at 03:05. Then one the them hopped over the bush and puffed up like he was gonna do something for a second.

I'd like to see what happened even before this.  I don't know why this white dude is insisting on holding onto the kid.  I'm assuming that he's holding him until the police get there so he doesn't escape but it's not 100% clear.  Looking more likely that the white dude is in the wrong to me but the jury still isn't 100% out.  You better have a pretty damn good reason to drag that kid around like that.

I'm thinking the shot fired was a negligent discharge caused by him trying to hold a gun and the kid at the same time.  Is he really a cop?  Look at that sloppy draw he used on his pistol, didn't clear the shirt properly.  This guy makes gun owners look bad.  He's lucky he didn't accidentally shoot one of them.  Dumb ass.

Maybe he should have just put up a fence.  ::)  Lot easier than grabbing kids.

But given the circumstances at the time of the draw - after being charged and knocked down, swung at,  and getting circled (what was that nacho in red reaching for in his back pocket?) - I'm giving this one to the dude.  He was right to draw and I'll allow the warning shot.  If he didn't have the gun and hadn't regained his footing before getting surrounded what do you think would have happened? 

That was the most non-come along hold I've ever seen tho.  Didn't look like a cop to me.  Insane lack of control of the kid's hands with a gun available at his waist.

Meh.  Nobody budged when he whipped it out.  A controlled discharge into the ground was the best way to diffuse the threat without harming anyone.  Worked like a charm.

Grabbing a kid was still a really stupid thing to do.  Contact the parents.  Contact the school.  Contact the police.  Build a fence.  If they're hopping the fence, build an unhoppable fence.  Make it tall.  Spikey.  Electrify it.  Dig a ditch at the base of it and fill it with red dye.  Make it telescope upwards after someone hops it if you really want to imprison someone.  Unleash the hounds.  Shoot him.  Stab yourself in the arm and place the knife in his dead hand.  There's dozens of ways to dissuade, deter, or dispose of a stubborn child.  It's almost as if people paid for their firearm with their imagination.

That 'cop' is a dangerous idiot. Completely mishandled what should have been a minor incident. If he didn't have a badge he would have been arrested.

It does not say, its a video, not a news article , he has the gun at his hip, the kid in his grasp , a wall of kids in front of him within 4 feet, he extends the gun past the kid in his grasp and shoots the gun in front of the kids i front of them to their feet
