I have a good friend who was a high school teacher, he participated in a lot of after school social events with students.

Long story short I told him he couldn't be friends with students and he said I was over reacting.

Before long he missed a week of school worn the flu and as  did a female student.  Rumors started that they went on a romantic trip together,  the school did an investigation...... he ended up transferring to a different school.  

Teachers should have more self awareness.
