In the Flex Wheeler comeback thread, Disgusted told me something I never realised - that a kidney transplant is just that - singular. So I presume Beau had both his whipped out, and his GF's inserted. And he clearly survived, as he's back in the gym...

Wow really? Can you link the video? I can't believe he actually said that. I don't doubt he'd DO that. Anyone competing with one small donated kidney is a special kind of scumbag, but to know you're going to need another person's kidney just to step on stage to please some schmoes is low, even for the most hardcore bodybuilder standards.

A co-worker of mine had kidney transplant 10 years or so ago. He has to take imunosupressing drugs for life. I don't know if the kidney has a expiration date.
Have a friend who had a kidney transplant also. He was black, his skin has a yellow flavour now. Strange. Great guys nontheless, ex-soccer player.
