Few of our scca evtc class race team were part of the r&d team developing controllers for electric vehicles. The controllers were like a gas motors ecu (with a "drive by wire"throttle at least) which controlled how much power was drawn and recycled to the batterys (16 in our race car for instance). Internship was gotten through one of our team advisors who worked for Lockheed years earlier. Nuclear physicist who worked at the san onofre plant  named john who looked like a skinny santa with a smokin hot Filipina wife looked maybe 10yrs older than me. Drove a bio-diesel toyota truck 10yrs b4 anybody knew what biodiesel was lol.

Think i talked about this before. We had GM & toyota both approach us (& Pennzoil for other stuff, sponsors nixxedbthat idea) to work with them. Toyota said that by 2015 they werent going to have any more gas powered vehicles. This was back when a few of us had supras and mr2s (and celicas :/ ), and none of us could believe toyota, who had always embraced the tuner market and even had TRD, a in house tuner/aftermarket, they'd turn away from gas engines and racing... And GM at te time seemed like a safer choice and were closer to releasing an electric vehicle. We chose gm's offer. Nice to see how that panned out, with toyota the world leader in hybrid tech. Lol

Interesting that you mentioned the San Onofre Plant as I was there during 1964/1965 (construction phase) and close friend was a Nuclear Start Up Engineer. (Another close associate who proved how dumb I was! I seem to have always had very intelligent friends or associates).

But a couple of them had some form of mental break-downs which I hear heard is somewhat common among those of high intelligence.

Decent surfing area and good times recalled during those San Onofre days.

I got 2360 (I *think*, not entirely sure.  All I know is I got one question wrong in math but the curve sucked. so it could have been 20 or 30 lower, I can check...) on the old SAT in 2008.

Straight serious.  Tested in early high school.  Was a lazy student who just wanted to play sports but realized I wasn't lazy but just bored in class.  The school tried to enroll me in all of these state academic competitions and I was like fuck no.  Got 1570 on my SAT.  know the exact questions I fucked up on. Was some bullshit latin word that I had no clue what the meaning was.
Got into mensa but never tried to get into the prometheus group.

Know the exact question (or rather, *knew*... it was ten years ago) I got wrong on the math section that dropped my score.

And I know the exact question on the ACT that dropped me down to 35.25 from 35.5 (which would have rounded to 36 and given me a "perfect" score!).  It was some reading comprehension passage with a bunch of horrible, indistinguishable arabic/middle-eastern/native-american/some-diversity-shit names, and the q was about which character did X or Y, and I just skimmed over the names when reading it because they were so fucking convoluted and awful and had to just guess.

That was the last time I was tested when I was a kid.  I had a lot of book knowledge and I was writing computer programs when I was in middle school however I had the personality of a tree stump.....typical nerd.  However, being smart doesn't translate to being rich.  One of the smartest people in the world is a bouncer.
