Kids off the streets? I didn't know his gym was free to disadvantaged kids. I retract everything.

Did you forget the part where Coach said he basically worked for free to coach a high school football team? I love ragging on coach as much as anyone. But to say he isn't passionate about what he does, is flat out wrong.

I wouldn't say this but a guy on this board I message with said with suspected steroid use you be nothing but a fat slob with a big bench. He said all the athletes that work out in your gym you are taking credit for their athletic success like they would be nothing without you.  What should I say to him?

That's like saying "an anonymous source said Trump colluded with Russia" it's does't mean anything without a name but to answer your question, I don't take credit for anything except for helping them get ready for their season and even then it depends on who it is. Why are you lumping in general fitness with athlete  development or preparedness? It's not the same.

How can you blame them for that by calling them 'clowns'? Being relevant on social media is the foundation of their success / income. It's pathetic, but that's how it works.

They call themselves "fitness experts" or trainers but if you go through their social media it's mostly pics of themselves and little if any of their clientele

Just having fun coach.  You have to admit all the guys that take credit for athletes working out in their gyms are huge. One guy in my area opened up a gym in an affluent area where many of the NY Giants and NY Jets lived.  Of course being the only game in town they all worked out there. Then because of all the NFL players that lifted there division I athletes started going there thinking there must be some magic going on.  Now he has a striving business training division I athletes looking to go into the pros. Everyone that gets signed becomes his success story.

Coach we are two of the only conservatives on this board.

I do find it annoying when coaches and trainers use the phrase "my athletes."

It comes across as very self-important.

There's this one chick who has an endurance podcast. She can't go five minutes without saying it. If you had to drink a shot every time she said it. You'd die of alcohol poisoning by the end of the podcast.

Forget? I can't read EVERY thread. If he really does so, than I take my words back and salute him for that. Yes, sport activities are a great way to work on the inner person.

That's a good point. Many competitors start coaching right away after they did their first show. On the other hand, you have to start somewhere, like every coach/trainer once did.

I think its fine to market that "so and so" trained with us this off-season, etc I also think it's perfectly fine for a coach to use that athlete for marketing purposes if you helped him prepare for his NFL/Pro days combine because that is something a trainer can take direct credit for, you helped that athlete get ti that next level by preparing him for testing but a trainer shouldn't take credit for the direct success of that players career unless You've worked with him year after year every off season or since at least high school.

At the High School level I'm with my kids for a full year, year after year from the end of the season to the beginning of the next...from Nov to Nov. Incoming freshman to seniors. I have the biggest influence on them as a coach because I'm with them longer and any other coach even the Head coach.

Keep up the good work with the high school kids.  Glad to hear that. Wish you success with the coaching. You are one of the good guys on the board.

Actually in Coache's defense he posted in that charity thread that he also volunteers alot of his gym time and training to local kids, not just for $$$

Agree 100% just need have a little more than basic knowledge and knowledge of the actual REAL fitness industry and at least 3+ years of solid hands on training with proven results with their clients.

In prison you'd be killed for thoughts like that. Is there something you wish to discuss regarding your nefarious thoughts about kids....who are mostly bigger than you?

Nope, not that hard to see the ones that make comments like that who they really are. That's two so far.

Coach, forgive me for saying this, because I'm a big fan, but you'd be seated on the short bus wearing a bib for drawing that disgusting implication.

Rather, the sentence used a play on words to question whether your altruistic actions were motivated from hidden self-interest (e.g., if it drew gainful attention to your company).

That's all. Yuck.

Yeah, I've seen some weird acrobats & cats over the years, who thought they knew it all. Well, you see this in every industry...

Remember 2 or 3 summers ago when some of the idiots from "Shredz" were posting here? They were bragging about money, muscle, women, success ect... And they claimed that they basically had a bunch of reinforcers known as the "Goon Squad".

That showed how truly pitiful some people in this industry truly are.

Life was so great, they had to GAY FOR PAY.

If you're lean and look 'toned' with a narrow waist, that's all that's needed really to look good in real life.

you're against marketing and capitalism

meaning youre a bunch of COMMUNISTS and ANTI AMERICANS

which is even more disgusting.

so not only should you leave getbig. you should LEAVE AMERICA.

I am not in America, and the fitness industry is still a SCAM.
