Most guys here, me included, are critical of the supplement industry. Piana was no exception. He marketed his physique, which was built on everything you can imagine but supplements of course, and targeted a gullible crowd. Sure, you can compare him to Blaha or Genova if you want to. The fact that the whole scene is a freak show doesn't make him a "good guy". It makes him a good guy within a realm that people with average IQs (and above) and just a basic set of values wouldn't want to be involved with even if you threatened them of cutting their genitals out.
In the land of the blind, the one-eyed man is king.
I'm sorry bro, in my rant I forgot to say I agree with you. The supplement company is a complete sham.
When I was young I spent money on tons of crap when a dude asked why I didn't just use juice. I told him that was "cheating"

and I wouldn't do that. He asked me to explain the difference between the crap I was using, that promised steroid like gains, and didn't work and the actual steroids that did.
That was an eye opening conversation.
Sometimes being young can mean you're naive. Life will either make you wise or play you for a fool.
People want to belong and be accepted. Whatever means you use to do this are ultimately up to you.
Piana created a culture within the bodybuilding subculture. Guys who followed him likely had bigger issues than supplement use.
I can't stand Lavar Ball. I don't understand why teens think this guy is cool, if his sons weren't basketball "stars" no one would pay attention to him. But his sons are and by being aloud mouth he's cashed in.
As they say don't hate the player hate the game.
