My training partner can beat that, which would make him the holder of the Canadian record in the Silver Dollar deadlift if he could get that official somehow. Presumably for it to be official, it would have to be done in a sanctioned contest, and one that is part of the same series as Canada's Strongest Man.  I would be curious how my friend can obtain this record, as there is no reason for him not to beat it.  If you can hold a Canadian record, why not?

Incidentally, the Ontario log press record was funny - it had to be performed by a Ontario-based strongman athlete in Ontario.    So one competitor, I think Travis Lyndon, had beaten the record, but it was done in a contest in the USA, so it was not considered the record.  No wonder there are so many "records" in strongman and powerlifting.

Incidentally, I hold all the northwestern Ontario powerlifting records [edited to add: in the <180-lb category].  Go figure - it was based on one powerlifting contest held in the region in 2013, with me being the only sub-180-lb competitor who entered.  

As for Eddie - this is just alien territory at this point.  Naturally, I fear for his health.    Great stuff though - I was a fan of his documentary "Eddie Strong", on Netflix.
