Franco’s physique always seemed boring. No “pop” to it, unlike Arnold, Nubret, Oliva. Same story with Mentzer- muscular but blah
I disagree, I always thought he looked amazing (very rugged, dense muscle, thick as hell chest, etc), but I also think Arnold is simply the best bodybuilder ever, no one beats Arnold

Not sure if trolling. Just the oposite is true his muscle pop is legendary especially his split upper chest feature is
unmached.
Minus was the arms of course. Overall great physique.
Not to mention being one of the strongest people of all time.

I always felt like Franco's arms were lagging compared to Arnold's, although he was as massive as Arnold everywhere else. To my surprise, I once did these comparisons of Franco and many other bodybuilders (Arnold, Dorian, Ronnie, etc) and Franco's arms are pretty much as big as all these other bodybuilders, he is just very short, but once you put them pics together making them the same height, you'd be surprised, his arms even match proportionally to other massive bodybuilders. Franco was 5'5'' while Arnold was 6'2'', but you put for example, Arnold and Franco assuming they were both the same height, and Franco's arms match the size of Arnold's, it's shocking

as an Italian American, I feel very proud of Franco, he is Italian pride, that's for sure (Mr Olympia, and pound for pound the strongest bodybuilder ever)

Not trolling. And I'm not the only one who thinks that. His training partner didn't:

"Because if you always train
with heavy weights you get to look like Franco Columbu; your
muscles are always there. Then when you pose there's no real
surprise. I don't want to knock that look. For myself, I prefer the
more dramatic body, the showman's body."

That's from Arnold Schwarzennegger's book Education of a Bodybuilder.

As for Franco being one of the strongest people of all time, there is no proof. I tried searching Italian powerlifting records and could find nothing about his verified feats of strength. Apparently no one else has been able to either. He certainly was strong but "all time"? Nope.

pound for pound he is the strongest bodybuilder ever, at only 180-185 lbs he deadlifted almost 800 lbs which is unreal. I think the most he benched was 525 lbs and his squat was 600 and something, I can't remember exactly, all these lifts done at 180-185 lbs

Dr. Columbu was the best bodybuilder on the planet. He absolutely crushed the competition in 1981. I would love to see some footage from 1976.

Most of those numbers are exaggerated, especially the bench and squat.  No debate that Franco was strong for his size and weight, but no proof exists to back these numbers/claims.

Deadlift was his best, but find a pic of him benching 500 or squatting 650.  There aren't any.

At least Franco always had a decent sense of dressing , looked like an adult despite being short, and very powerful when in public ........

Imagine Franco dressing like fellow Mr.O winners  Jay Gutler and philsulin , flat brim hats, baggy shorts , sneakers.making faces  and throwing signs with fingers    ;D

WooSHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

Of course he dressed well, he's Italian. Yet in this photo looks like he popped a shirt button

Danny much better imo. Franco was strong as hell, and did a good job maximizing his bodybuilding potential, but his structure/balance is full of flaws.
