People are becoming desensitised to violence and crime

In the UK the TV show soap operas all have killers walking around among the cast, they have a character kill someone or be involved in violence (acid attacks of late) yet 3 months later the same characters are getting married and its all forgotten

A high percentage of the cast have been arrested or jailed at some point.

It just makes people non plussed to crime and violence.

This goes back to how we raise our kids and what we have allowed our society to become. We've all seen the kid throwing fit in the grocery store because he didn't get the candy he wanted, the parent either gives in or lets them get away with that behavior, instead of whipping that ass. Kids don't know how to loose gracefully anymore, and learn that to win, you need to do better next time. The best way to deal with a bully is a punch in the nose, now the kid who stands up for himself is considered just as bad or worse than the bully.

So whats so different now?

Our society! corporal punishment, discipline, Understanding that boys will be boys, Church, Respect for you parents, respect for authority in general, this barely exists anymore in our society. No now we celebrate stupidity, depravity, and any other morally bankrupt trend that comes along.

There is no mystery here, we create a small army of these little assholes, then wonder why this is happening?

We as a society have created this fucking mess, parents want to be their kids friend now

It is a topic that needs to be researched. It’s always been a gun crazy country. But the school shooting thing is a pretty recent development.

Out in the boondocks, people have always been armed to the teeth. Hell, some of the most lax gun laws in the country are in Bernie Sanders’ Vermont. Why? The hunting Lobby is very strong up there. Good luck trying to take their guns.

The other day I was in the mall and a woman had her dog in the store. A toddler walked by the dog and it started going nuts barking and growling when the owner said the dog didnt like children. The child's mother immediately responded with, "Leave the dog at home then, dont bring it to a shopping mall where you know there will be kids."

The dog owner gave the mother a surprised look of shock and grabbed the dog and stood silently with her mouth open for a minute before she left.

This interaction is another example of American societys problem.

People today are very self centered and not aware of/concerned for others. Their self focus is their only motivation.

 I think when you have these mind sets and you raise children it can also feed into anti social destructive behavior

Many Hispanics are white (almost entirely of European ancestry). Take Saul Alvarez for instance.
Even if Cruz held far right views, they aren't connected with the crime given the choice of target.
