LOL - Absolutely no way to know that

I find it hilarious that Trumptards are giving Trump credit

I guess they don't think that China or South Korea had anything to do with this

The irony of course is that China and South Korea have been doing ALL of the work and Trump has done literally nothing other than accept and invitation for a future meeting

has absolutely zero to do with trump. sk president ran on a pro NK reconciliation platform when he was elected last year. sk general public are sick of being pawns in the US's war games. he was viewed as being an anti american candidate. since he's been in power he's halted the roll out of the US THAAD missile defence system and he's suspended further US/SK military exercises till at least the end of the olympics.

that's the real reason why NK is now coming to the table.

The South Korean president is beyond magnanimous is sharing the credit.

SEOUL (Reuters) - South Korean President Moon Jae-in said U.S. President Donald Trump deserves a Nobel Peace Prize for his efforts to end the standoff with North Korea over its nuclear weapons program, a South Korean official said on Monday.

yes. and no military exercises took place until it finished. also SK hugely scaled back the annual US/SK military simulations. they lasted half the usual time and the US was greatly restricted in what military hardware it was able to display.

see this is the stuff the media doesn't feed the MSM sheeple. they just want to paint Kim Jong as an unhinged lunatic, hellbent on starting WW3. in reality NK's missile testing is a just response to US posturing and agitating.

now you have a leader in SK that won't go along with the status quo and is actively trying to demilitarise SK , all of a sudden Kim Jong is not such a blood thirsty madman after all.

You might be partially right.  This from an opinion piece:

"Moon understands this, which precisely is why he dangled the prospect of a Nobel Prize in front of Trump. He is flattering Trump in the hopes that this will make him more flexible in his negotiations with North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un. Trump should refuse to take the bait."

https://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/on-north-korea-trump-should-refuse-to-take-the-bait/2018/05/03/5684e2c2-4eec-11e8-84a0-458a1aa9ac0a_story.html?noredirect=on&utm_term=.35d0c0df5bfa

Let's put the popcorn on the slow boil and watch this unfold.

two days after it was announced that Trump had agreed to this meeting is speculated that it would never happen

Trump (being a fucking moron) had no clue how much work on his part it would take to not only prepare but to stay on point.

He probably thought it would be like one of those meet and greets at Trump Tower where people kiss his ass and then take a photo

Maybe Trump can still get the peace prize for destabilizing the middle and moving us closer to war with Iran (with no allies on our side)

duh, of course not

that would suggest he would do some kind of preparation and we know that's not his thing

btw - I seriously doubt this meeting will ever happen

The White House already started backpedaling yesterday

I'm sure you heard about it from the gang over at Fox and Friends

Yeah, cancelling it can't possibly be Trumps fault

I think Trump did the right thing by calling it off.
But, I don't think he sould have tried it in the first place.

That crazy  NK dictator will give up his nukes, when you ( Coach) marry Barney Frank  ;)

North Korea is tricky. That's an understatement. Those that were in the know on Kim gave the summit a small percentage chance of happening due to his and his fathers past actions. While many people were blowing up baloons and talking about a Nobel Prize for Trump, most were very cautious to get too excited about it because 2 of the 3 main participants are nutcases. But mostly because North Korea having spent decades under sanctions spending billions on creating a nuclear program, were unlikely to simply agree to dismantle and give it up no matter what was offered. It was more likely a ploy to get some relief and they would drag their feet and play us if they could. I don't blame Trump at all for making the attempt. He would have been remiss not to try. And maybe eventually they will get to the table but I have bigly doubts that Trump can outplay North Korea in a chess match. He has too many buttons that are easily pushed.

To misquote Oscar Wilde (who knew a bit about overselling)
To lose one nuclear deal may be regarded as a misfortune; to lose both looks like carelessness.

he agreed without giving it any thought or consulting with anyone (and just agreeing to meet gave little rocket man a "win" for doing nothing)

Like Howard said, no other President has really made a dent so trying something unorthodox wasn't a horrible idea. I don't know how successful it can be as long as Trump is directly involved as you allude to. There are protocols, land mines both politically and verbally he would be unlikely to avoid. What I would have hoped would happen is Trump uses his "brand" to get the meeting, then allows those who actually know what they are doing to make the decisions and the bulk of dialogue.

Trump agreed to the meeting without giving it any thought then realized he wasn't willing to do the work to prepare for it and couldn't fake his way though it without looking like a total jackass (an experience you're no doubt familiar with) so he bailed out in a pathetic attempt to avoid disaster

No way that any of that is Trumps fault

Clearly Obama's fault and probably Hillary too
