This is one of the most abused and misquoted scriptures in the New Testament.

We have to judge, a thousand times a day.  Do I want to enroll my kid in this school?  Do I want to give this guy my money for his good or services?  Do I want to eat these leftovers that have been in the fridge for two weeks?  Do I trust this car dealer to give me a good deal?  Is this hitchhiker a decent guy or a serial killer? Etc., etc., etc.

We need to judge and be discerning.  Our survival and our families depend on our good judgment.  Perhaps the spirit of that scripture from Jesus' Sermon on the Mount might be more like, "Judge not unrighteously, that ye be not judged; but judge righteous judgment."  If we had no faculties for judgment we'd be kind of like the brainwashed PC snowflakes on pretty much any college campus anywhere, who can't even reason their way out of a wet paper bag.  Stand for something, or you'll fall for anything.

Yeah, a friend of mine in the biz said at least 100 are out of work.  Many will pick up new gigs, but, man, that was stupid on Barr's part.  Perhaps another network will pick up the show.

Agreed.  It's painfully evident here on getbig and in the comments section of pretty much anywhere--YouTube videos, politically divisive articles, celebrity news, it's everywhere.  We rush to judge others without knowing the full story behind the headline.  And it's certainly not "righteous judgment" any way you slice it.

Not to my knowledge, but Hollywood is a cesspool of racism and every other form of perversion and depravity.  This move by ABC is classic liberal virtual signaling.  All they care about is their bottom line.  Just like any other business.  Don't kid yourself.

This reminds me of when Gilbert Gottfried was fired after tweeting a joke about the Japanese tsunami years ago.
I remember one of the headlines read: “Aflac fires Gilbert Gottfried as mascot voice after finding out he’s a comedian.”

It amazes me that companies/networks hire these well-known controversial comedians, and then act astonished when they publicly make comments like these.

There is always a moving line which can't be crossed without repercussions. One could successfully argue that Rosanne was just being Rosanne and they'd be right. Times change though and maybe it isn't the right time for Rosanne's to be herself. Comedians are notorious, successful and famous for 'pushing the envelope', think Lenny Bruce, George Carlin, Kathy Griffin, Joan Rivers and many many more. Apparently, Lenny Bruce when too far since he was arrested for being his comedic self. Hmm, which is worse, getting arrested or getting your namesake sitcom canceled?

Considering her age and the fact that the television show made her famous, she might have really fu.cked herself. To her credit, she hasn't been accused of sexual assault. That is instant death for celebrities.
