Interesting times for people that follow organized crime. Carmine Persico dead, Gene Gotti out, Bananno bosses freed. This is the 3rd highly visible mob related killing in about 6 months in the NY tristate after years of peacefulness. Plus you've got a lot of Latin and Eastern European gangsters quietly gaining power.

Perhaps but wouldnt they whack the guys directly in charge of the coke? This guy being whacked is internal or its a rival group willing to start a war. Most likely internal. Maybe his faction got the blame for the bust though. $77m is a lot to lose.

my great grandfather was a "jewel guy" for the Costello brothers, before one of them became a boss....he was from Rochester.. talking 1940's I believe... lol my grandmother said she never knew the depression even happened.. nobody actually knew for sure what he did for a living or how he earned so much money... nobody actually believed it until he passed away... the funeral home looked like a scene from a movie from what I hear... big caddys, expensive suits, bodyguards...

Interesting seeing how many Getbiggers have family ties or knew mobsters. My mom's side of the family is Sicilian and it was rumored there were members as well but I never met anyone or know what crime family they may have been involved with. My mom is 50% Sicilian making me only 25% so don't call me a dago!

my family tree ciccatelli scutari I know that we had family members involved my dad would never tell us either way but im sure he had his hand in shit lets just say a lot of Things we had new couches tvs things like that weren't delivered by the store my uncles and friends of his would bring them over this was in the 70s around 75 76 from what I remember
