I wasn't comparing nations handling of natural disasters, just painting the picture of what's to come.
There is no standard to emulate with covid19, you just try your best to prepare for what's ahead. The US was giving a helping hand in is. They basically have a crystal ball and can see weeks ahead at what's to come, just by looking at other Western countries. Somehow they have managed to still be one of the worst prepared countries for it.
Gotcha.
It appears the US has already screwed itself with its handling of the economy. Or by not shutting its borders sooner.
I truly believe the disease and the overwhelming of the hospitals was never the "scary" part for Americans, as Visualizeperfection said we have been good at shifting production and converting facilities, its the loss of jobs and the economic shut down.
But as has been said, we will soon find out.
