Just a few weeks ago Getbiggers where making fun of the situation, asked "where are the bodies?" in the warning thread from The Italian Lifter.

Now, the bodies in New York are piling up, they are running out of space in the morgues.

So where are the bodies? Right at your front door.
A few weeks ago? I ask several times a week, where are the bodies?

Let’s revisit this in 2-3 weeks when everyone is back doing their thing and see how well it held up.  The R0 on COVID is substantially higher than the flu so we can accurately assume there are far more cases then have been reported thus the mortality rate is significantly lower than it’s been reported.  Fear is a great way to control the masses, just look at the mass house arrest the world is under and for what?  To shelter from a virus that 80%+ of cases are mild at best.  I’ll admit, weeks ago I was falling into the paranoia but the more I read, the less concerned I am.

Same boat. I was never worried about the virus itself, hoping I don’t get it, but I’m a young man and I keep myself healthy, not even any gear for almost 5 years.

I was really concerned about two weeks ago, dusted off the guns and mentally prepared myself for the worst case of social breakdown. People are not losing their shit yet. Hundreds of people out and about. Grocery stores have significantly caught back up.

I’m starting to think there could be some conspiracies afoot.

I don't get the conspiracy theory, many politicians ignored it very much like Trump did, then they panicked, it really seems extremely contagious, once emergency units start to overload, politians tend to panic.
It seems like a universal concept, first ignore, then shrug and say it is not a serious threat then city lockdowns, no sir, there is some serious shit about this virus!

epic truth bomb for the dumb GOP voters

https://www.theatlantic.com/ideas/archive/2020/03/presidents-character-unequal-task/608743/

The qualities we most need in a president during this crisis are calmness, wisdom, and reassurance; a command of the facts and the ability to communicate them well; and the capacity to think about the medium and long term while carefully weighing competing options and conflicting needs. We need a leader who can persuade the public to act in ways that are difficult but necessary, who can focus like a laser beam on a problem for a sustained period of time, and who will listen to—and, when necessary, defer to—experts who know far more than he does. We need a president who can draw the nation together rather than drive it apart, who excels at the intricate work of governing, and who works well with elected officials at every level. We need a chief executive whose judgment is not just sound, but exceptional.

There are some 325 million people in America, and it’s hard to think of more than a handful who are more lacking in these qualities than Donald Trump

Big deal buttercup, all leaders did the same thing - the WHO itself said :

I think the big cheeses were playing it off to delay bombing the economy for as long as they could. I think the media is overhyping it to ensure people comply with stay at home orders.

To be honest I’m in Southern California and don’t even know someone who knows someone who is infected. Not downplaying the severity just speaking facts.

I don’t think anyone is asking for bodies. That would be a grotesque notion, what are we, abortion doctors?

CITY-BASED manufacture Gtech has been told by the government to not produce much-needed ventilators less than a week after getting the go-ahead, the company’s chief executive has said.

Nick Grey, chief executive of Gtech, said he had been advised by the government on Thursday (March 27) to not push forward with production of ventilators, despite answering a call for help to assist in producing more than 30,000 ventilators, less than two weeks ago.

You never had "touch", you have been getbig's punching bag since before my time here. I mean you started a thread to bash a likely gimmick that ended up making you look like a fool.

No one buys your bullshit here. You're nobody. Just a drug addict.

Of course there were (live) bodies everywhere....you live in Southern California. People won't stay home there for anything. Californians flout any directives and the law.

"Scores of “nonessential” California businesses have been ordered to shut their doors as the state works to curb the coronavirus pandemic, but some are flouting those orders and choosing to remain open."

700 N.J. police officers have tested positive for coronavirus, State Police leader says

About 700 New Jersey police officers have tested positive for the coronavirus, officials said Saturday.

“There’s more than 700 police officers quarantined at home, and there’s about the same ... number that have tested positive from all 21 counties,” Col. Patrick Callahan, acting superintendent of the State Police, said at a press conference in Trenton.

He did not give more detailed numbers or name affected departments, and the State Police did not immediately respond to a request for more information.

But that amount is far higher than previously known. Newark, Jersey City, NJ Transit, the Port Authority, Fanwood, Hazlet and the State Police have all reported cases.

Two officers that were in “serious condition” are now stable, Callahan said. None have died.

Testing sites in Bergen and Holmdel were only testing symptomatic first responders Saturday, Gov. Phil Murphy previously said.

There are about 36,000 officers in the state, according to recent State Police data, and experts said the public should not be concerned about a looming officer shortage.

“If you have the right officers and you have the right supervisors ... we are good,” said Maria Haberfeld, a police science professor at John Jay College of Criminal Justice in New York.

Crime has also dropped in the state, officials have said, which could help departments cope with any short-staffing, according to Jon Shane, a retired Newark police captain who teaches at John Jay.

“We don’t need as many police officers to respond if the work isn’t there," he said.

While smaller agencies would be more affected by sick officers, he said, even a steep decline in cops could be offset by help from neighboring departments, state troopers and “special officers,” which are sometimes retired cops at schools.

Police once stationed at casinos and other closed businesses could be moved, Shane said, and non-officers could cover some administrative tasks to free up more people for patrols.

National Guard troops were also recently approved to work in the state.

The state attorney general has raised the alarm, however, about a shortage of protective gear.

“We’re struggling, we are absolutely struggling with PPE across this state," Gurbir Grewal said Thursday. Some gear had to be wasted breaking up illegal gatherings, he said.

Cops responding to calls are now told which residences have coronavirus patients, although patient names are not shared. Some police are also limiting face-to-face contact, while others are purposely not enforcing some offenses.
