Just came out that here in L.A. we have what probably is called "Herd immunity", meaning Corona actually came here from China last year, which is why we had an epidemic flu season last year with 3000 deaths and 55,000 hospitalizations, 2 to 3 times the average number of flu deaths. Latest research shows it worked it's way through some of the population that now has immunity, and this is why California doesn't seem to be hit as hard as NY or other metropolitan centers that size. It's a flu.

Eh... no.

Los Angeles County Extends Stay-at-Home Order to May 15

The people of Los Angeles County will have to remain on lockdown for at least another month ... county officials have extended an order until May 15.

L.A. County's public health director, Barbara Ferrer, made the announcement Friday during a press conference. The "Safer-at-Home" initiative has closed public beaches, most parks and hiking trails, and limits movement to essential places like the grocery store or doctor's offices.

Angelinos have seen a drastic change when out in public ... most people wear masks or some sort of face-covering device ... and social distancing signs are posted in grocery store checkout lines.

The initiative has obviously been a major hit to the restaurants and local businesses, though many have launched carry-out food programs to continue some sort of revenue stream.

The order had originally only been in place until April 19, but at the time, it was subject to extension.

The link above is U.K. government site & makes for interesting and eye opening statistical reading.
The US I would think has a similar government department & site.

Very much worth checking it out.

March 16th – The Ferguson Report Is Released
On March 16th a professor from the Imperial College in London called Neil Ferguson used a mathematical computer model he created in 2009 to estimate the infection rate and death toll of the coronavirus.
he predicted 250,000 to 500,000 deaths in the UK alone
March 23rd UK goes on lockdown
March 25th – Ferguson Retracts His Prediction
On Wednesday 25th only 9 days after scaring the world into an unprecedented lock down Ferguson drags himself off out of “self isolation” to speak to a parliamentary committee and reveals that he has now readjusted his model and “now feels confident that the death toll in the UK will be below 20,000!”
So the guy who caused the world to shut down only 9 days before with doomsday figures predicting millions of deaths and saying we need to self isolate and practise social distancing for up to 18 months has now told parliament that he was wrong and the figure he now predicts is below 20,000.
What is astonishing is why this was not being reported on every mainstream media outlet as the biggest governmental cock up in history at this point. Yet we hear virtually nothing and the media continue to spread fear on a scale never seen.
Why Is His Retraction Not The Biggest News In The World?

Gotta keep the hysteria going.  Do you know how much the media loves all the attention they have been getting the last 2 months?

The issue is the media cherry picked one scenario, the worst case scenario (because it sells the most ads) and pushed it out there.

The reality is these guys would have several models across a number of scenarios during the initial planning phase and it would be normal to downgrade estimates from a worst case to better case as restrictions increased and positive data was reported. It is normal and expected.  The guy actually clarified it on twitter after he copped a social media beating.

The media have a LOT to answer for. Most shit out there seems to be cut and paste now. Nobody fact checks.

Okay, there is some serious fuckery going on with the numbers that are being recorded.  Below is a link to the recorded CDC data, for Covid, Influenza, Pneumonia, etc.  A couple of things stand out.  1.  Pneumonia deaths are much greater, week to week.  2.  Covid deaths vs pneumonia deaths, being recorded, stated to state.  NY and NJ have high Covid deaths, and low pneumonia deaths, when compared to CA or TX, which of the exact opposite.  CA and TX have high pneumonia death and low Covid.  The CDC has actually explained this, and admitted that many pneumonia deaths are being documented as Covid, because they can't be for sure what the cause of death was.  The numbers arent adding up.

Gov. Murphy is an idiot.

He marches lockstep with whatever California does.  Doesn't have an original thought in his head.

I met a Nobel Prize winner - William Shockley. He was a fucking jerk. If you think that it requires some politically motivated prize to guarantee competence, you are sadly mistaken.

Funny thing is that 99% of all modeling created to fight an epidemic are computer models. Heck, the majority of those computer models were at the request of entities other than the WHO. The WHO is shit. Pure and utter shit. Just another organization created for who knows what where useless politician has-beens go to essentially die while living a very lavish lifestyle.

If anything COVID demonstrated is the lack of coordination between the state and federal governments. I'm sorry if you're a democrat but... if you listen to Cuomo's press conferences and the thought of hitting the pierced-nippled fucker in the back of the head with a baseball bat doesn't come to mind...

I'm still amazed that we were so behind with this epidemic. Knowing how fucked up virulent outbreaks could potentially become you'd think the Department of Health could be looking for ways to effectively isolate and quarantine a population.

Here's a thought... use a hotel packed with people. Give 5% of the hosts red t-shirts with VIRUS on the front. Within 5 minutes of the "viruses" walking around touching people, tell the hotel manager that he and his hotel are the subjects of an exercise. See how he/she reacts. Learn from it. Do something! There's excellent population control protocols out there... schools have it for active school shooters, the different fire departments have them for tall high rises, etc.

Bro where did you read this?

If it came here from China last year what is the reason these people are giving for Wuhan being hit so hard?

This rubbish is simply more of the same faggetry that has permeated the country for the last generation.

-everyone gets a trophy no matter how much or how little you contribute
-play sports but don't keep score
-everyone's actions, no matter how absurd are to be accepted

Now after this exercise in stupidity is over, all the cowards who stayed home and hide under their bed and literally drove around in their own car wearing a mask and gloves will be able to take credit for "saving humanity."

The scared and the weak get another trophy for doing jack and shit.

Cowards.

Thus far none of the models have been anywhere near accurate
