No, it's always been that way in NY.

The population centers are in the cities, particularly NYC which has huge population.

NYC and it's environs are blue and rural NY is red.

New York State could turn red. You just have to get enough white liberals to leave and enough Hispanics to vote Republican. Blacks are a lost cause as they’re always going to vote Democrat.

I doubt it.  Most moving are republicans or conservative democrats.  NYC is probably even bluer now and immigrants will flock there now that there's more housing.

^This. And the standard of living will continue to drop in NYS as a result of the flight of the industrious class. My upstate NY home town once was an industrial powerhouse. It now looks like a bomb hit it.

Schenectady?
Of course and it better not just be a dream.  Texas will be blue soon so republicans need to get votes from somewhere.

Syracuse- although pretty much any city in the upstate region of NYS now looks like shit. I was in Rochester a year ago and man that place has gotten depressed. And that was one of the bright spots in NY for many years.

I’m going to be one of them fairly soon. No sense in staying here anymore.

The reason I said Schenectady is because of the GE plant and yes it is a shit hole.

Not too familiar with western New York but I do know the capital region and Albany is pretty much a shithole as well although there are some nice areas outside of it.
