I have the impression from what Emily said it is like a badge to show she's selfless. IMO, she should get it fixed. She can't do much for others if she get's in an accident because she can't see properly out of her windshield. I Behanky is half the man he says he is, he would get it fixed for her.

In my state it’s a ticket for the reason you mentioned

Were you ever a big deadlift guy wes?
I did them a lot but never tried for any length of time to pull huge poundages......I would take them in and out of my workout when I grew tired of them and might not have put them back in for lengthly periods of time.

I did a lot of hyperextension and stiff-legged deads more than regular deadlifts.

Give up squatting, completely. Your lower back, which can cause more pain than a hot poker stuck in your eye, will thank you.


Go get a slide board and do intervals on it:



I no longer do squats cuz they literlly did squat for my quad development or lack thereof.  :D

I now use Front Squats with heels elevated on a 2X4 and Goblet Squats as my main two quad movements for fairly high reps with moderate weight.

I`m training a lot different than I used to as I got older and decided not to compete anymore....fuck the Master Nationals I have done enough prancing around in panties to last me two lifetimes.  LOL  ;D

At 66 I look at least 10 years younger than I am, and I think my lifetime best shape ever was at 57,so I figured fuck these two dimwits I`ll show them.....then I came to my senses and asked myself who these two were, and what the two clowns had accomplished in this sport and I quickly dismssed the whole idea........two imbeciles,especially Epic....what a fucking goofball he is.  :D

They are pretty cheap- there are guys showing how to make one for $35 on YouTube. You can get them on Amazon starting at about $50. I used one for quite a while when i was Nordic ski racing (ski skating). They are killer workouts- depending on the speed of the interval you do. I did 10 min steady state concentrating on my glide, then added in anywhere from 10 to 30 second flat out efforts with easy skating between.


The advantage of the skating movement is it works your quads and glutes with no impact and no pressure on your spine.

My lower back is tricky and is compltetely fucked from years of heavy squatting and it goes out on me periodically and has for years,then it seems to mysteriously correct itself and I feel zero pain,and things are normal again.

Well for the last 3 weeks my lower back has been fucked and it`s not getting any better,it seems to be getting worse by the day.

Anyway,today is leg day and I feel like I have a slipped disc so I`m going to do ten sets of as many reps of bodyweight squats as I can per set and just do some  stretching afterwards.

I hate to miss training days but my back is totally fucked.

Don't know if this will help with your back, but I have a history of lower back problems...degenerative disk disease. Several years ago, my doctor, who is a DO (Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine), suggested I go for a fairly brisk walk on level ground. It worked to relax the nerves affected by the compressed disks and stopped the debilitating spasms. I still do this today on the rare occasion my back goes out.
