You kind of suck at Math look at your formula Sets X Reps is the same fucking thing as total fucking Reps. According to the formula you are posting if given Total reps you wouldnt even need total sets to solve for volume. Your formula supports my argument

I think you need to go back and read my post again to understand the point, or maybe have a more literate friend read and summarize it.

No one uses or cares about "total reps" except those articles in magazines like Shape and Men's Health.

You are outright wrong I mean I don't like talking studies but they show more rest between sets is better moving weight faster doesn't make it harder contracting your muscle harder makes it harder time under tension makes it harder focus makes it harder isolation makes it harder mind muscle connection makes it harder weights are just tools you focus creates intensity of effort not your speed
I knew you wouldn`t get it or are just playing dumb cuz you know I`m correct.

I`m not doing super fast reps, I am resting less between sets which makes a workout much more intense.....I still go as heavy as I can using good form by no means am I going light just because of the shorter rest periods between sets.....if I rested longer I know I could use more weight but the muscles can`t read the number on the plates they only know intensity and TUT.

Great exercise plus I train at home with no machines.

Yeah I`m old school....trained in the same gyms as Jeff King, Joe Gomes, Richard Roy, Chris Aceto, Arthur Prince ,Pat Hayes, Rick Sampon, Dave Mastorakis, and a slew of other fucking beasts.....all guys that have competed nationally and internationally against legends and a lot of them did DB Pullovers and they trained fast and heavy.

If you never heard of these guys look them up and be impressed.

if you trained like a wuss in our gym like you do, you got laughed out of the gym and were considered just deadwood....you`d be classified a a guy we needed there to pay dues to help keep the gym open so we could train our asses off while you read the newspaper between sets.

Again you suck at reading as I have never said that. I would absolutely argue a max effort for 10 reps or a max effort for 1 rep will both give you gains. I also made the argument that if lifting the same weight 5 sets of 20 or 10 sets of 10 or 8 sets of 12 or whatever fucking arbitrary number you stop and rest at for however fucking long whether you beat your dick or smoke a cigarette while resting does not fucking matter if you do 100 reps with 100 pounds your gains are going to be the same any way you split it up.
Ten reps will build more muscle than one rep due to increased time under tension.

Single reps are for power like doing one rep of a squat with 405 pounds....something you will never know anything about.

I’ve tried something similar and it wasn’t for me.

A decreasing pyramid of reps where the weight is correspondingly increased until the last set is failure at 2-3 reps has worked best for me. For short periods of time (maybe a month) I will train heavier and do a 6, 4, 3, 3, 1 type of rep program. I am absolutely vigilant with warming up and stretching when using that type of power program

1) You should probably ask the person who devised your program

2) I use EMOM stuff more with strength training.  When I do my oly lifting it is usually 1 - 2 reps EMOM for 12 - 20 mins.  (Then again, if I do 2 reps per minute for 12 mins thats 24 reps...according to the resident expert I could use the same weight and do 1 rep every 2 mins for 48 mins which would be 24 reps and get the same results)

He went for blood work to see if he could step back on the gas and found out he has the early indications of heart failure.

Since when does a true heavyweight pump on a Smith machine bench press with 70% of bodyweight reps?

I don't like it much either, especially on DLs.  For bench it's fine.  Will give your advice a shot next workout - thanks man.

Program was a strength cycle.  Just didn't know if I'd get any additional benefit.
