It Was Hard

My brother, my sister, and I, have just finished cleaning out my parents house. I'm exhausted.

We have a professional cleaning crew coming in, to make it look good. I have to go sign the closing papers tomorrow. The neighbors a few houses down, actually bought the house.

They have a step daughter and her husband that was living with them. Now, they have their own house, close by.

It's just a mind fuck looking at old photo albums, and realizing that this is really it.

I was looking at one of bhanks threads, and noticed that my parents had their house built in 2004 as well. I really don't think it has sunk in yet.

I watched the Superbowl for the first time without my father. My mother died on Superbowl Sunday last February.

Growing old sucks.

It's all in how you handle it dude.

You get used to it after a while.

Or dwell on it until you die.

At least you have siblings.

Your E- friends will be a shoulder to cry on. Like its 2005 during the forum days

real question, do you have real friends? or are you one of those guys that sits and plays call of duty all day making "friends" on Redditt?

They sad: "have you ever noticed why some elderly people are so cranky?"

"It's because they have lived long enough to see the majority of their family and friends die."

If I live long enough (knock on wood) I will likely see the death of all my aunt's and uncles. I've only got one grandma left, and she is in her 80's.

If I could go back into the past to cherish our Christmas gatherings and Thanksgiving holidays, just a bit more. You don't know what you got until it's gone.

So old people who aren't assholes didn't have relatives die?

My 92 year old grandma is the nicest lady you would ever meet. I haven't seen her cranky ever in my life.

My grandfather died when i was 4 years old. The other when i was 12.

Barely even knew them.

Life is about perspective, which you are struggling with.

You could be right. But I guess it also is based on how close you are to your family.

I had a conversation with my brother a few years back. I told him (At the time) that we had been extremely lucky, when it came to deaths in the family. I said "unfortunately, it's only going to get worse from here."

Little did I know, that the house of cards was just waiting to fall.

Getbig, is a place for entertainment. Sometimes it goes to the edge. It's no different than a shock comic on stage.

Well you could meet a woman and start your own family that would outlive you vs worrying about your Aunts and Uncles dying in 20 years and leaving you alone. Almost everyone outlives all their Grandparents Aunts and Uncles but not their kids.
