Zane was far more polished with superior leg development and posing.....Arnie was a mere neophyte at that stage of his competitive career.

Looks like 2000 MAN is another guy who knows jackshit about bodybuilding.

Wes has spoken, and so it is !

I don’t want to know what it takes to get a name like “2000 men”. Definitely paid his dues. Much more than Arnold in ‘68.

Had Zane not kicked Schwarzenegger's butt at that show, the Arnold physique that we have come to know and revere would have never materialized.

Joe Weider deliberately robbed Arnold of the Universe win so Arnold would lose his negotiating leverage. Arnold was in talks with Bob Hoffman as well as the Weiders. Joe knew that if he deprived Arnold of the title then his bargaining power would be greatly diminished. It worked: Joe Weider signed Arnold for dirt cheap. Arnold had recently beaten Dennis Tinerino, who was similarly built as Zane.

Arnold robbed himself by showing up as smooth as a baby's behind and unpolished. Again, had he not lost that contest, he wouldn't have made the improvements needed to create the physique that ultimately made him an icon.

Definition has played too big a part in bb contests for decades now. I don't agree. Bodybuilding was and still is about getting muscles as big as possible. Contests are not necessary and introduce all manner of bullshit over the years. In 1992 Dillet was the best bodybuilder period. The contests then mean bugger all.

Zane got gifts in 77, 78 and 79. Now he is an old fart who looks like he never lifted a weight in his life.

Zane looks nothing of the sort. Yes, he's old. But, he's obviously been hitting the iron still.

Definition has been, in some cases, too big of a factor. But, you STILL have to show up cut. Arnold wasn't in shape and he got beat.

Dillet wasn't the best bodybuilder. As soon as he posed, he beat himself.

Exactly.  If he had pulled a "Mentzer", quit competing and just  whined about it ad nauseam then he would never have accomplish shit.  But he also did this when he (rightfully) lost to  Chet Yorton in his first NABBA Mr. Universe attempt.  He went back into the gym like the madman he was and became better.  And he continued to do this regardless of whether or not he lost or won.  He never lost sight of what losing felt like.

He's the biggest mangina on the planet now but back then he was The Man.

Zane at 75 is a frail old man. Nothing less. He is 80 now so imagine what he looks like?

Well,at 80 years of age we can`t be expecting him to be benching 405 for reps Vince !!  LOL  ;D

He has nothing to prove having won all the major titles he has taken over a period of decades .....he`s a living legend......don`t let your dislike for the man blind you of his rightful place in bodybuilding.

If size alone won contests then Paul Anderson or Ivan Putski would be multiple Mr. Olympia winners.

Granted Zane wasn`t a huge man, but still had plenty of muscle on a small frame, great proportions, top notch symmetry, defined quads that most others in 1968 couldn`t come close to matching,a finished/polished look to his build and a very pleasing look as well (NO HOMO),plus he was a great poser who knew how to display his body to accentuate strong points and hide the weaker ones.

Sergio had insanely awesome genetics but got beaten mostly because he was never quite in top condition, except I feel he got robbed in `72,but if he had the cuts to go along with his great mass and God given genetic shape, not many could have touched him on stage.

Arnold was way too smooth in that contest. It looks like he didn't even diet.
