You really don't need to eat plants or plant derived foods.

Meat has lots of vitamins in it.
Accurate

That’s risky stuff: Consistent, long-term exposure to even small amounts of heavy metals can lead to a variety of health problems. The danger is greatest for pregnant people and young children because the metals can cause developmental problems, affect brain development, and lead to lower IQ, says Tunde Akinleye, the CR P.O.P. food safety researcher who led this testing project.

The Prevalence of Autoimmune Disorders in Women

Eighty percent of all individuals affected by autoimmune disorders tend to be women

Sex differences in fruit and vegetable intake in older adults

The results confirmed the pattern of men consuming fewer servings of fruit and vegetables daily than women.

The Old Man and the Meat: On Gender Differences in Meat Consumption across Stages of Human Life

The gender bias in meat consumption has been intensively studied, and the result was unsurprisingly always the same: men eat more meat than women do.

Women go to the doctor 10x as much as men.

Without women doctors would go broke.

My bro-in-law never drank alcohol.

Dude has all kinds of health issues.  Of course he has been 50-100lbs over weight for 50+ years.  Big gut.

Humans ate far more meat before agriculture, but now:

The Number of People With Chronic Conditions Is Rapidly Increasing

In 2000, 125 million Americans had one or more chronic conditions. This number is projected to increase by more than one percent each year through 2030. Between 2000 and 2030 the number of Americans with chronic conditions will increase by 37 percent, an increase of 46 million people.
https://smhs.gwu.edu/sites/default/files/ChronicCareChartbook.pdf

India is the country with the highest plant-based food consumption and lowest meat consumption in the world, and it’s one of the countries with the shortest life expectancy in the world.  India has a high prevalence of chronic diseases across all age groups too such as cardiovascular disease, diabetes, pulmonary disease, cancers, and mental health disorders.

Hong Kong has the longest life expectancy in the world. Hong Kong also has the highest meat consumption in the world, consisting of mainly beef and pork.

Reminds me I once read a book on the dangers of drinking alcohol,  scared the crap out of me.

Even without drinking, the 100+ pounds would do it.

I see what you're saying, politically correct BS.  However, Consumer Labs got the same results in their own tests:

Dr. Eric Westman at Duke University has treated thousands of patients successfully for over 20 years for obesity, diabetes, insulin resistance, hypertension, infertility (PCOS), GERD, and other metabolic conditions using a very meat heavy, very low plant, keto diet.

His patients tend to be low income and uneducated, so they eat the stuff from the supermarket and even 100% beef patties from fast food restaurants.  Yet they resolve their health issues and their health improves on this diet like no surgery or medication could ever do.

Anything more would make this diet available only to the elite.

This has always been my concern.  Thanks for posting this. Keto is an easy diet to follow but can get expensive. It's easy to find cheap protein/fat sources but knowing  it's heavily processed "mechanically seperated chicken" and god knows what other fillers and preservatives always leaves me wondering if it mitigates  the benefits.

I just started eating broccoli again and it makes me feel a lot better, better energy, and it helps me eat more of my bulk food (flavor)

I have had large indoor gardens of cannabis before as well - I would agreee it raises estrogen in a way but it also helps with inflammation

But I don't eat that much kale anymore because of that stuff about large amounts can affect your thyroid

IroNat ain't lying.  I'm actually sometimes breaking even at worst and saving money at best since I started eating this way over 3 years ago.

Publix, if there is one near you, has a Standing Rib Roast sale a few times per year, around $6/lb.  You can have the butcher slice it into steaks for you at no extra cost.  Then you can grill them like ribeye steaks.

(buy) Chicken legs, thighs, quarters.  Chicken breast is too lean so don't eat it.

My ex used to tell me that. "Buy thighs instead" (to bulk up).

But when you look at the nutr.data/facts, breasts have a decent amount more protein (% wise) vs thighs and only a touch less calories. As for fat, my shakes have a shitload of it.

I'll stick with breasts. Have a couple in the fridge which I'll cook tomorrow with frozen veggies, rice, teriyaki sauce..

It's not about bulking up.  It's about getting enough fat in your diet.

You don't have to worry about micro-managing protein intake on keto.

What you need to make sure of is getting enough fat.

However, for you it is irrelevant since you are not doing keto.

If you are not doing keto you will have to manage your caloric intake to keep your bodyfat levels in check as your body will use carbs for energy.

keto and bodybuilding dont go hand in hand
To stay in ketosis you need to be on quite low protein, about 75gms will take you out of ketosis

A well formulated keto diet is neither high protein nor low protein.  It's moderate protein, high fat, very low carb.

How much protein you need and how much will take you out of ketosis is a very individual thing that one must figure out, and it can change from day to day depending on a number of variables.  For many people it's about 30% of their daily calories from protein.

If you are in ketosis, gluconeogenesis will use fat as well as protein to make glucose, not just protein.  Ketones are muscle sparing too.  This along with consuming highly bioavailable animal protein, saturated fat, and cholesterol means you'll probably need less protein to build/maintain muscle while in ketosis.
