Thank you Never1Ashow, wes and Ro.

For the record, when I say "Stiff leg deads" I mean similar to Romanian deads.

I haven't done them in about 22 years because my back used to go out all the time but I seem to have corrected that(knock on wood).  No back squats, no bent rows, no ab work(that one may be a bit controversial) and no "bracing my core" prior to lifting.  I now focus on my spinal erectors instead of my abs when I deadlift.   I was going to take some time off to heal my forearm but it felt "ok enough" and I got the idea in my head and I get more autistic and obsessive than MattC.

I've been on a deadlift variation bender the last couple of months.  620 from a rack(technically "stands" I bought from amazon) no belt no straps mixed grip(bullshit "quarter squat style" just to train my grip).  500 double overhand no straps from a rack also for my grip.  510 with farmer walk handles(they're thicker than an olympic bar).  So this was the strongest my grip has ever been right up til the injury.

Wes, or anyone really, im 45 and getting back on after about a year and a half off (shoulder injury) and im having a tough time for some reason. Case in point, last night was doing.back and when i got to pullovers i was stuck at 80lbs i think i got 6. Before layoff i hit 130lbs for 6. Its not so much the drop in weight thats bothering me, its a lack of drive. After rep 4 i felt physically exhausted
 I forced myself to do 6 and that was it
 My back was not really struggling. I was not coming close to failure in my lats or anything. Just getting the weight into position wasnt heavy at all, but exhausting
 Does that make sense? Is this because im out of shape or age related? Today i was doing some side jobs and after a couple hours on my feet same thing happened. My body just called quits on me. Im not sure whats going.on.or what to do about it. Anyone else experience this? And any ideas how to fix it?

A container full of weights which gets pulled off the ground on the rope. We did 2 live matches after several rounds of this, the men were divided equally by weight. My side won twice. Tug of War contest in town on Sunday. Tough game, satisfying.
