Are you aware that the trap bar you intend to buy is 88.5" in length, which is a bit longer than a standard barbell?
He can put his bench sideways in between his crossover unit........he`s full of shit as always.

Can't fit a 7' regular bar but can fit a 7'4.5" trap bar is typical bhanks math.

Anyway I just got off the beach actually managed to catch a wave despite recovering from hernia surgery. Not going to lie was exhausting just caught one wave after paddling and having waves break on my head for half an hour but one is enough was a good day. They are having a pro surf contest a half hour further south conditions were really good today. Waves were big kicked my ass

Did any of you do anything today other than telling me what I can’t do?

I already stated my goals are 350,400,500 I think those are reasonable I honestly thing the bench will be the hardest of the 3. My only competition is with myself just trying to make my lifts and hit my numbers. It doesn’t matter to me if I do it in the 198,220, or 242lb class. The point of the meet is just training motivation and fun not expecting to be a world champion powerlifter. Also I am 45 years old I will be 46 at the time if I hit my marks that would be great. What others do is not my issue.

OK then.

I think you'll have an easier time getting back to the 350 bench since you've already done it in the past.  But you've never pulled 500 before and if you go for it conventional style with an olympic bar(not the trap bar) you're probably going to have an anal prolapse and that bar is going to be glued to the ground.

What's the most you've pulled off a rack, say for barbell shrugs?  There's also the grip issue but you'll claim you have an iron grip even though it's probably untested.

I like that thinking & this quote, and its what I really live (or lift) by...  "You vs. You"...  Or "Me vs. Me"... I compete with myself, and push myself to be better.
Even at older age. I'm still hitting my numbers (this year at age 57:  500-355-500) that I set for myself, and will try to add 5 lbs to bench, and 10 lbs to SQ and DL next year...
Ay my age, even minor gains are hard. (Plus getting past these shoulder and back issues for the rest of this year).

Compete with yourself, set goals and go for them... You'll hit your numbers...

Just like you could squat 405?

You don’t have the mobility in your shoulders to back or front squat.

Why don’t you take up shuffleboard?

I really don't recall however you can see above I was repping 275lbs rather easy for stiff leg deadlifts which are a lot more difficult.

Do you know the difference between a stiff legged deadlift and a romanian deadlift?

405 would crush him, he was never even close after trying to get to it for 2 years. I can't wait to see his excuses for not being able to deadlift 500. :D
