I seldom start posts here. Just wanted to say thank you. I don't even know if it's warranted but maybe it completely is. I had a high PSA test and prostate cancer runs in my family. It wasn't really high but over 4.0.  The urologist said there are advanced PSA tests and he wanted to give them to me spaced a couple of months apart. He said if bad then an invasive biopsy, then you know if that is bad what comes. It's prostate removal or destroy it with radiation. Afterwards most have trouble getting it up and pee in their pants. With radiation many have the runs as it burns every thing down there even though they try to target just the prostate. The doctor can also chemically castrate you with a pill to eliminate testosterone to slow the growth.

I mentioned it on a thread months back I had a high PSA and someone said try Vitamin K.  I really don't know who said it.  I did the usual google research and it just seemed like there was one minor study saying it helped but a bunch that said it did nothing. Having nothing to lose I bought two bottles. So I have the two advanced PSA blood tests spaced months apart after dosing with vitamin K. Vitamin K supplements are cheap. What the fuck do you know? My PSA dropped 50%.

I see the urologist in two weeks. I really need an explanation. I know stuff like riding a bike with the seat pressure can make a PSA reading go up. As well as cumming the day before a test. Some things on the internet say vigorous exercise can make it rise too.

How did I go from my GP doc and urologist saying I might have prostate cancer to having PSA readings of a 30 year old? Was it the vitamin K? I don't know and I can't wait to hear the explanation the urologist will give in two weeks.

I already have one cancer and to think I might have another was just depressing. I think and hope this scare with the prostate is unfounded. Thanks again to the guy who recommended vitamin K. It might have nothing to do with it but fuck I will take a low PSA reading and run with it.

Not sure if this is the thread, if it is Sandrock is your man. Good luck regardless:

TAKE VITAMIN K

IT'S REALLY CHEAP

JUST GIVE IT A TRY YOU FUCKOS

https://www.vitacost.com/vitacost-ultra-vitamin-k-includes-advanced-k2-complex-180-softgels

Take 3(at a time) a day with fat.

I did the google thing with Vitamin K. It might help. This fucko just ordered some. Ordinary multiple vitamins really skimp on Vitamin K. Most have something like 20% of the minimum requirement of K.

You are no longer a fucko!!!  I hope it helps you too!

Hi! Great news! Did you tell your Dr about the vitamin K? Didn't know if it's maybe masking something by bringing the PSA down.

Just a 100 mcg and what ever is in my multi vitamin. Just got a new bottle off of Amazon that I haven't taken yet and it's 300mcg.

My PSA always moves around. And I have been on TRT 200mg a week for over 20 years. Generally in the 2.0 to 4.0 mark. Occasionally jumps up to 6.0 and then back down. I have had two biopsies and both negative. When my number raises my endocrinologist puts me on an antibiotic. He claims i have a prostate infection. The antibiotic brings it down to range. Not sure your age but your PSA number is low. The marker is when it just keeps increasing and increasing. Best wishes..

My father, 77yo, has prostate cancer, mild case. His PSA was also 4. The doctor prescribed him radiation and testosterone supression injections. His PSA went to zero and his prostate shrunk. The lack of test gave him many other issues, deregulating other mild health issues he has (diabetes, thyroid, arthritis). This treatment went for 6 months.
Now his PSA, even within normal range, is getting higher (wich is normal), but the doctor wants to supress his test to zero again (sits at 100 right now). I believethe  doctor want PSA near zero for 4 years, to "kill" the cancer, if ever it will happen. No radiotherapy needed by now.

Mine was 4.5 I believe. My brother and father had prostate cancer.  Now I have one below 2 and one test something like a 2.7. Yes, I am low now.  Didn't know an infection could make it jump too.

I heard the biopsies have a high infection rate.

My brother is 78. He had radiation to burn away his prostate. He told me it was a big mistake. According to my brother he said he felt  fine prior. He also said, prostate cancer is a slow growing cancer and it could take well  over ten years before it spreads. He had the peeing in his pants and having trouble getting it up after radiation.  I know most young guys would say he's 78 what does he care about erections but a man is a man till the day he dies. Also had pooping problems because the radiation burned too much down there. He advised me to not do anything about a high PSA level. He regrets having radiation. Prior to the radiation they too cut off his natural testosterone and he wasn't happy about it.

I told my urologist what my brother said. He shrugged it off.  I'm sure he makes a mint with prostate operations and biopsies as his brand new Porche suggests.  His response was, "Don't you want to live to your 80's?"

In my father case the doctor told him that he will die with, but not from prostate cancer. Mostly due to his age.
Life afer prostate removal surgery is hell. Men lost peeing control, have to use diapers and i doubt they recover erectil function. Read somewhere that there is a new approach of puting a stent to allow urine flow.
I believe he is going to get a second opinion on the matter, regarding test supression.

Every single medical intervention has risks and benefits, and it’s up to the patient to decide with their physician whether or not the benefits outweigh the risks.  Radical prostatectomy has high incidence of side effects, but so does metastatic prostate cancer.  Keep in mind that the incidence of side effects is greater in patients with higher bmi, more comorbidities etc.

It’s great that the Vitamin K seems to be lowering your PSA values, hopefully it’ll be a long term solution for you.  Let your physician know and tell him that you would prefer to actively monitor the status of your prostate rather than opt for any invasive procedures.  If he has an issue with this, find a new one.

My old man had laser surgery. It damaged the piss sphincter and resulted in constant dribbling. Now he has an artificial sphincter which is actuated by squeezing part B which resides in his scrotum.

If you are at a bus stop with him, or in line at the bank, he will tell you, and anyone nearby, all about it. "Artificial sphincter" was his catch phrase for a good few years there.

Hey no didn't mean anything by that. I've sinced googled and vitamin K has lots of positive things regarding prostate health so it's helping. Consider getting a 2nd opinion on your issues too.
