Dorian has his share of strengths but to me his large waist is an automatic failure when compared to Ronnie.  His strengths don't make up for it in my opinion.

And if anyone thinks Dorian at his best would beat Ronnie in contest at his best by ANY judging standard, lay off the crack pipe.

I referred to that particular shot Matt, but yes, obviously I think Dorian is better as I dislike Ronnie's physique and the judges clearly agreed with me.  There was never any doubt in anyones mind on the occasions I saw them compete.  Ronnie in 96 was not far off his later best - better in my view except 98 and 05 when he at least displayed some quality. I agree that Dorian let his waist slide a time or two and that hurt him.  But Ronnie's waist structure is not the best either.  I mean, the guy has two abs, no searratus.  Small details to you perhaps but when you have a better eye you will be able to discern such things.

Hulkster - Ronnie looked as good as you say his peak was back in 96.  BATTERED by 5 other guys.  I actually
"preferred" his physique in 96 to any other year - 98 being let down by gyno of Francoesque proprtions.

People talk about how Ronnie has tiny calfs, but thats just not true. He might not have the split diamond shape to them, but they are still quite large. If you watch the prejudging from the 2005 Olympia (in the BFTO 2005) you'll see that they actually looked bigger than Cutler's.

Furthermore, the seperation between Ronnie's hams and quads is tremendous.

Yates was a great bodybuilder and I model much of my training style and mentality from him. As much as I love Dorian, he still isn't in the same league as Ronnie Coleman. Coleman outmuscles him and has more detail. Did Yates even have a split in his biceps other than that massive tear?
