Mr. diplomat here, having completely changed his initial assessment in the process.
Pumpster, yes I am trying to be diplomatic, because I don't believe completely discrediting ND is the right way. I agree with you. Ronnie at his best was unbeatable. However, even you admit that Yates in 1993 was very good. Although I feel that Ronnie would win, I don't believe in a million years that he would win easily. Judges obviously hold some biases (look at Gutler and winning this year); thus, it is not out of the realm of possibility that Yates could prevail. Obviously, I would feel it is BS, but that is the sport. Unfortunately, there is no sprint or one on one battle with objective pointed goals. It is up to a varied judging panel to make the choice. Maybe some 180 pound former pro is going to hold it against Ronnie that he shows up at over 285 pounds and is taking the sport in what he perceives is the wrong direction. Thus, yates could win. Moreover, he looks damn good in some of the poses, but Ronnie smokes him in the majority IMO. Regardless, we all enjoy the debate, but I feel we should discuss this thread intelligently and with reason. ND feels he is as right on the matter as do you. Are either of you really wrong?
