This stomps a mudhole in coleman

not according to Team Flex ;)

Peter McGough - Flex, August 2005

"Ronnie sporting that [01 ASC] look would, in my opinion, be unbeatable."

Shawn Perine - Flex, July 2007 p. 207

"After all, he's still, even at 43 yrs old, eight-time Mr. O Ronnie freakin' Coleman. Which is to say, arguably the best bodybuilder who has ever lived."

Greg Merritt - Flex, July 2007 p. 212

"Coleman is only two years older than the new Mr. O (hypothetical article saying if Toney Freeman won), but time stops for no man, including the greatest bodybuilder who ever lived."

Jim Stoppani - Flex, July 2005

"Has anyone ever displayed a more muscular, more shredded, higher-quality physique than a 247-pound Ronnie Coleman at the 2001 Arnold Schwarzenegger Classic?"

while we're at it, let's see what fellow professional bodybuilders have to say. Each of these guys competed against both Dorian and Ronnie.

Flex Wheeler - MD, February 2004

"I'll go on record as saying Ronnie is truly the biggest, hardest, most shredded Mr. Olympia in history. No disrespect to anybody at all, but I'd to identify Ronnie Coleman as the greatest Mr. Olympia of all time."

Jean Pierre Fux - Personal Website

"The current Mr. Olympia (Ronnie Coleman). In top shape, probably the best physique that ever stepped on stage."

Paul Dillet - MD, February 2004

"Understand that if Ronnie walked away tomorrow, I do not think anyone can measure up to the standards he has set. Just like Sergio Oliva, an awesome bodybuilder way ahead of his time, and like Flex Wheeler, who had an absolutely perfect, beautiful physique. No one will match Serigo or Flex and now Ronnie."

Mike Matarazzo – Flex, January 1999

“I think this creature from another planet, Ronnie Coleman, is going to be number one for a while. I think that, in the shape he was in, he would have beaten Dorian Yates. Ronnie has every single attribute it takes to be the greatest bodybuilder who ever lived."

Shawn Ray – 2003 Year in Review (Hosted on Bodybuilding.com)

"Ridiculous" Ronnie Coleman would win his 6th Sandow Trophy in a row looking absolutely ridiculous! This guy was from another planet! Ronnie added about a million pounds of muscle from the previous year and squashed the competition on sheer MASS! Unbelievable is what Ronnie was this night!"

Simply put, this is just about the most perfect a back double biceps can be. How you all have no respect for Yates after looking at this is beyond me.

LOL looked like that in 95? ::)

1200+ pages and you are still as dumb as a rock... :-\

I watched the video yesterday and he did look almost as good in 95. Anyway, any version of Yates beats 98/99 Coleman. He beat guys every year that were as good or better than peak Coleman.

Dorian's back is superior. The only thing Coleman has on Yates in that shot is ass....but I suppose that's why you prefer Coleman.

Ronnie looks watery and soft as hell in that 99 pic.

99 BGP is overrated, just watch Ronnie's posing routine. He was much better at the Olympia, although not up to Doz's 93 standard. The only version of Ronnie that could beat Yates in his peak was the 2003 form, but even if Ronnie did win, he still looked grotesque.

notice how in every other thread, people comment on how great the guys were of the 90's vs. the guys coleman beat - or didnt beat.

lke cutler in 01, levrone in 02, and gustavo in the challenge rounds.

for the "best bber of all time", dominance is scarce and proven with contest results and scores.

ha ha ha, and to think that Suckmyasshole claims that Dorian had bigger arms than Arnold. ;D

Fuck you, NeoIndian. I never said that Dorian's arms were bigger than Arnold's; I said that they were 21", and one of the reasons why I believed it to be credible was because I once read that Arnold's arms were 22". So once again you're putting words in my mouth. If, as you say, Arnold's arm size was 19.5", then Dorian's were smaller than 19" and Coleman's arms at the 1999 Olympia were probably around 19". I would never had stated that Dorian's arms were 21" if I knew for a fact that Arnold's arms were 19.5", because Dorian's arms were clearly smaller than Arnold's. So once again, you talk out of your ass and get owned. :P ;)

ronnie is considered the greatest of all time for many reasons:

1. he won 8 mr. olympia titles (two more than dorian and one more than Arnold, tied with haney)

2. He also won an Arnold Classic while being Mr. Olympia, something no one else had done before or since.

3. His longetivity - he is competing with the best while dorian is handing out cups of water at the shows where ronnie is competing.

4. He has won more contests than anyone else in history

5. His peak form is considered by most to be the best ever seen, flaws and all. No one ever picks Dorian.

It has nothing to do with the fact that he lost alot when he was coming up.

Arnold lost, Haney lost, dorian lost - they all lost before they hit their primes..

Where are SUCKY and ND ??? IceCold, Pobrecito, RocketSwitch and Carvedoutofwood have been taking a massive beating lately. :o All they say is parroted from those two, and they are clearly unable to hold the argument without them. I hope either SUCKY or ND comes back. The Dorian side sucks without their two leaders. :-"

Thanks, bro. :) But I have no interest in this thread anymore. I only post here now when the Coleman spooge-suckers insist on putting words in my mouth, like NeoIndian and others.

no, doubt about ronnie's greatness.

but, he is the only mr. olympia to EVEN compete at the arnold while being mr. olympia.  when the others have not, its stupid to make a big deal out of it, but you will anyways.

ronnie should retire, he's embarrassing himself and his legacy.

what good is competing just for the sake of competing?

# of wins is somewhat irrelevant.

shawn has 1 one and is considered one of the best.

he may have won more titles that dorian, but the compeition was a joke.

how great was ronnie during the 90's?  exactly.

he also competed in more contests that just about anyone else - and lost to more guys that most everyone else.

its like brett favre - #2 in touchdowns AND intereptions.

plenty of people have mentioned dorian's 93 or 95 form.

sure, some may prefer ronnie, but yates domiance is never in question or his best form.

the 93 olympia is legendary.  no one gave a shit about the 99 olympia.

it came and went like any other year.
