for what it's worth, ronnie NEVER had dorian's rock-solid conditioning.

however, in my eye, that means fuck-all when it comes to deciding who has the better build. a 145 pound kid could be shredded to the bone and covered in striations but still be a twig. at the end of the day ronnie's "marshmallow" body had better size, shape, and proportions at its best than dorian's at its best.

look at classic photos of sergio and arnold while they were on stage. if they showed up looking like that today (ignoring the size thing) they'd get comments like "smooth as a baby's ass" and "absolutely no definition from the back". the obsession with conditioning is retarded, it makes people forget who actually built the better body which, i do believe, is the whole point of bodybuilding.

photographic comparisons are bull shit!  - Being a graphic designer, It's very obvious a lot of the Ronnie shots you posted are hectically altered using a tool in Photoshop called unsharp mask. This Dorian photo took me 2 sec.

There is nothing amazing about elongated pecs, alien abs, smooth legs and poor calf development. Why is it Coleman nuthuggers refuse to look at the flaws? They stick out like a sore thumb. BTW both Yates and Haney had less flaws than Coleman so that makes them superior bodybuilders IMO.

  A picture or video that has been tampered with does not show what Ronnie really looked like, so it cannot be used as evidence in a debate where we're trying to determine who was the better. So it is germaine to the discussion and not stupid to point it out.

I can clear this up.
The graphic artist was referring to the 1998 picture of Ronnie's picture of his back
from East Coat muscle. I had never used unsharp mask but tried it after he mentioned
it and it does give a quality that the east coast muscle back shot from 1998 has.
The 1999 video captures have not been photoshopped in any way.
They are straight from the DVD which was copied from a VHS tape.
I'll give an example of unmasked sharp that he was referring to in the 1998 picture
and it is obvious east coast muscle used that.
I'll post a copy of the east coast muscle back picture he was referring to being altered.
The 1999 video captures are straight from the DVD/no alteration.

as they don't morph or make the muscles look bigger than they already are.

  Maybe the pictures were not photoshopped, but were taken from a video that was tampered with. I have seen several versions of Ronnie's pics from the 1999 Olympia.

  Not bigger, but they do enhance the dramatic effect of muscle definition, striations and vascularity to an extreme degree.

Enhanced lighting can not create cuts and striations that are not already there
but bad lighting can hide them.   

  Redundant. They show definition and vascularity that you would ordinarily not see, so in a way it does create more defintion and vascularity.
